They should be aired on religious channels only. Every Sunday eve BBC1 have Songs of praise on.

Im paying my license fee for that. I can turn it over yes, but the BBC are the ones who are charging for their programmes.

£131.50 a year to have that on my tv. That should be removed.

If we don't let them have their silly religous crap once in a while it means they can whine about things they feel offend that silly religion of theirs.

I personally agree with you that we should not have to pay for programming or channels that we don't use/watch.

HOWEVER, the simple economics of the Cable/Satellite industry is that we end up doing so because in order to carry popular channels like ESPN and the History or Discovery channels the cable and satellite companies are required to carry other channels. Currently they do not have the option for "ala carte" programming. This form of "narrowcasting" will probably become more feasible in the future, but it is not now.

The same thing is happening on a smaller scale with the BBC and other individual channels, especially in countries that have fewer channel options than the United States.

Until true "narrowcasting" and selective programming becomes viable, the best option you have IS your remote and also contacting your legislators to allow/require the cable/satellite companies to "unbundle" the programming. Please be aware that this unbundling may raise your television costs however in the short term.

I found this out when I used to work for a Satellite TV Provider and had many Conservative Christians objecting to programming and channels that did not agree with THEIR philosophy, so it truly DOES work both ways......

So? You can't just put up with one TV program on a Sunday afternoon? Is that how intolerant you are? Lol. Anyway, a majority of the people in the UK are Christian, so I don't see why they should have to sacrifice for a minority. I'm Muslim and even I don't have a problem with it.

'Put up with'? You sound like a buddy I used to have. What are you going to do about it, if you won't 'put up with it'? Stop whining and write some letters to the people who put shows on the channels. That's how the religious people got those shows on the channels, by writing letters and pestering them. You know you'll have to tolerate these religious nuts, like it or not. So either practice some tolerance or take action but whatever you do, stop whinning.

Either watch it or turn the channel. Christians who are paying the same fee have the right to have a program on that they like. Christians have to deal with all the anti christian garbage on TV all the other days of the week. Stop whining.

When the ratings go down, they will take them off. As long as there are people watching, the will air them. As for yourself, pick up the remote. Express your free will to change the channel.

i understand...unfortunately it's kind of fair. i put a block on those channels so my remote just skips over them.

i imagine that the christians do the same thing to the channels they don't like.

think of it this way at least it's only one channel on sunday nights...in america i have several channels blocked every day.

Just change channel, isn't X-Factor on at that time? Watch that it's fun for the first couple of weeks.
