Yes mention 6 hour discharge to your midwife. I hated staying in with my first one. I was awake all night because of other babies crying and people shuffling around. When I had my second daughter at 5.30pm I came out at 10.15, I was determined to come home! With my son I had him at 8.20am so I went home at 6.00pm. Don't be cajoled into staying in, just tell them you are going home to be with your daughter and you will phone them if you experience any problems. Good luck with your birth!

I had a very quick delivery w/my 2nd child. No complications. But I still stayed at the hospital for 12 hours. Above all you gotta rest a bit afterwards and regain strength. My other daughter stayed with friends and did just fine. Ask a friend or relative to take her someplace fun to distract her instead of just staying home with her.

yes you can stay in 6 hours after birth as long as there are no complications.
just a bit of advice if you are going back to a busy household with no help, stay in longer your body needs time to repair itself. giving birth is a major thing to happen to your body.
you will become tired more and possibility of post natel depression setting in.
if you are lucky and have help at home then make the most of it!!

Call your hospital and ask them what the policy is. Don't worry about your daughter at home. She'll survive. What really matters is that you are ready to go home and have someone supportive staying with you.

Are you talking of delivery? If so, as long as you are informed about what symptoms to watch for; there should be no reason why you cannot leave after 6 hrs.

In the UK you can pretty much leave hospital as soon as you want considering you're ok and baby is feeding well :o)

well providing that there is no complications with the birth, and that a paediatric doctor has done the necessary checks, then you will be allowed to leave.

If she is really young then thats understandable, but otherwise shes just being a wuss, and shell get over it. Either way a family member should stay with her if possible, and then there is no problem.

I think you should choose what you are most comfortable with.
We had our three children at home.
