I am looking a general quotation that expresses the apathy and angst of the generation following the baby boomers.
They had to deal with the Cold War, Vietnam, possible total destruction of the world...etc...
I tried looking on quotation websites, but none seem to offe what I am looking for and maybe somebody out there will be able to help.
Hopefully somebody can push me in the right direction and help me get a quote from somebody, preferably somebody well-known, or from a song lyric, or anything.

Taranto -- you are genius. You know what I'm looking for.
That's more what I'm looking for, just something that shows their rebellion (Sorry I said apathy, althought the original generation X immediately suceeding the baby boomers were a bit apathetic, not referring to the 1990s grunge movement)
If anyone has anything along that line of thought, that's what I'm looking for. (Although I will probably use that quote) Thanks Taranto!

"We have a saying in the Movement that we don't trust anyone over 30." Jack Weinberg -- leader of Berkeley's Free Speech Movement (1965).
While the Baby Boom generation was known for its angst -- it was not known for its apathy. That train belongs to Generation X.

In the 1960's the baby boom generation (born 1945-1964), was in its teen years. They were activist against the Vietnam war, and against the seeming apathy and conventionalism of their parents' generation. Maybe you're looking for a quote that typifies the 1950's.

Peace!
Also, look for quotes from JFK - he said many things that you might be able to use. He was very intuitive. For example, he said, "A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on."
By the way, the 60's WAS the baby boomers generation!

Country Joe and the Fish did a little ditty called "The Bomb Song"
"Please don't drop that H-Bomb on me, go drop it on yourself".
It wasn't apathy, but the general hopelessness of the situation

"Where have all the flowers gone?"
"How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?"
"You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know you can count me out"
"Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
Ooh, theyre red, white and blue.
And when the band plays hail to the chief,
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, lord,
It aint me, it aint me, I aint no senators son, son.
It aint me, it aint me; I aint no fortunate one, no,
Yeah!
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, dont they help themselves, oh.
But when the taxman comes to the door,
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes,
It aint me, it aint me, I aint no millionaires son, no.
It aint me, it aint me; I aint no fortunate one, no.
Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, lord,
And when you ask them, how much should we give?
Ooh, they only answer more! more! more! yoh,
It aint me, it aint me, I aint no military son, son.
It aint me, it aint me; I aint no fortunate one, one.
It aint me, it aint me, I aint no fortunate one, no no no,
It aint me, it aint me, I aint no fortunate son, no no no,"
