It depends on a lot of things. The person's age, being young that may be just how they say it. It was a text message, so maybe the person wanted to send a condensed version.

Maybe not... luv ya sounds very not formal. I love you is definetly a serious phrase, in which is very meaningful and in my opinion, should be said only when truly meant. Luv ya is more of a not-so-serious playful statement, and in my opinion, means the same thing as 'I really like you'. Or is even used in a friendly way. A lot of people can say Luv ya, and then close out a letter, it's nothing really passionate or intimate.

No, they don't mean the same thing. "I love you" is a formal declaration, considered and serious. "luv ya" is much more casual, and while as a colloquialism may carry considerable affection between close people, depending on the context it might be only friendly or even have a schmaltzy hint of sarcasm.

In your boyfriend's case, it's probably intended as "I love you" but he doesn't want to overuse those three-little-words, and is saving them for when he's speaking with you face-to-face.

Luv you is different that I love you.

To me, first is like a used form in letters or quicke greeting but not definitely a love showing affection.

Other one "I love you" is a real concentration and confession of a meant love.

See ya.

Lots of guys are intimidated by the phrase "I love you." It seems too serious and heavy, especially in a text message. I'd say your BF is expressing his affection for you, but he wants to keep things light and casual, and may not want to make the emotional commitment that goes with those three words.

i think luv ya is more casual n u could say it to anyone and it wouldn't really matter. i love you means something different, obviously it means he is seriously in love with you.
