Be patient. Budgies are noutoriously fussy, so keep at it. Leave the fruit and veggies in there for about 20 mins a day, then take them out and replace them when new ones in the morning. It may seem like a waste, but it will pay off.

Budgies/parakeets need time to get used to new foods, as you will read here:

"The diet should also include a daily offering of fruits and vegetables. Who likes to eat the same thing all the time anyway? Don't be surprised if your budgie doesn't eat the fruits or vegetables at first. It may take months, but keep trying..."

Most parakeets don't like vegies and fruits, though they might nibble on broccoli or parsley. Feed a good seed mix and a good pelleted mix daily to help balance out the diet.

I have a parrot that is the same way. It really isn't a big deal. What i do is buy treats from the pet store that have dried fruits and nuts in them and my parrot eats it. you could also try grindling the friut really samll and mixing it in with the food.
