If it contains an alcoholic beverage, then it depends on the age limits for purchasing and consuming it where you live. If it's simply an empty container, you could buy that at ANY age.

Yes, it is.

If you're looking for a legal defense, I knew pilots who bought their own oil in bulk and carried the reserve around in 16 oz whiskey flasks. And trust me, once a flask has been filled with Mobil Jet oil, you're never going to want to consume anything that's put in it afterwards.

So, yeah, you can buy a flask. You can't go into a liquor store unsupervised, but that doesn't prevent you from purchasing a flask at a head shop or convenience store next to a liquor store, on-line, or from specialty stores in the mall.

Owning and possesing a flask is not illegal until you put alcohol in it. In the privacy of your own home, with the consent and supervision of parents, you could put alcohol in it with their permission and it would be legal.

The motives for owning a flask while under 21 if not for a legitimate use, might get you in trouble, but simply owning a flask will not.

Drink responsibly.

You can carry water and soda in a flask if you want. It's just a container. No alcohol, no law broken.
