If you get a siamese from a breeder it might be expensive, but you may be able to find one at a shelter that wouldn't be quite as expensive. Try petfinder.com.

My family has owned siamese cats since I was a baby, we've had seal point, blue point, and lilac point. If you purchase one with papers then I'm sure you'll end up paying a lot of money. The first siamese we ever owned had papers and I think my parents paid a lot for her when I was young, however, over the years we have adopted other cats, one was free to good home, we adopted one or two more from litters people had, and I don't believe my parents paid a lot for them.
I lost both my cats two years ago to old age, one was a blue point and the other was a balinese. I had decided to wait on getting another cat until I had settled into my new home, instead I ended up with a dog. However, one day while in PetSmart they had two siamese cats up for adoption. So you see you don't have to pay a lot for a siamese cat and they aren't all that difficult to find, but if you want a true pureblood siamese with papers then yes, you will probably pay a great deal, siamese are the most beautiful cats you will ever own several of ours were outdoor cats and several were indoor, we never had one stolen in the 30 years of owning them. I don't think you will have a problem letting it become an outdoor cat.
They are very independent cats and they are very loud, but everyone that I owned were very loving.

Siamese kittens cost around $550. & up from a
breader. Burmese might be a better choice
as they "talk" less. Check this out:
http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/burmese.html
Both Siamese & Burmese do need to be
kept indoors as they are to trusting & would be
stolen or injured by other animials. Most cats/
kittens turned into humaine societys/Animal
shelters have serious health & behaviour problems.
Best to get your kitten from a breeder. Ask for a
pet quality kitten as thay are less expensive than
show quality kittens. Don't hesitate to negociate
price. Offer around $300. for a pet quality kitten.
End of month is often a good time to buy the kitten
as breeders sometimes run short of money at
that time. For a list of breeders get to your
library & check out "Cat fancy " magazine.

Purebreds cost around $800. You can get an almost purebred at a shelter. There are tons of them at a shelter. Try here:

Maybe they will be stolen but only by people who like simaeses and want one real bad. My siamese went through a lot. First he was shoved into a backpack and tried to be taken but I ran out and screamed at the lady to return my cat and she finally did with her explanations on how she thought it was hers (yeah right). The second time a homeless person was selling him for $20. I had to buy MY OWN CAT!!! The last time they put him in a plastic bag and tied him up. Luckily his claws were sharp so he made a hole in the bag, pulled his head out of the hole, and dragged himself home still in the bag! That is when I dedided no more outside for you in the day. Now he only goes outside in the night or with close supervision in the day.

I got my 2 Callico cats which are also pricey for ZERO bucks. I got them from a family who was giving them away. As another person already answered, look around. Browse through the classifieds of your local paper or LA Times. I've always believed in adopting first, buying as a last resourceor not at all. You can save a life! Good luck!

Siamese cats do tend to be much less social than different breeds, even though it varies with the cat. attempt utilising beneficial reinforcement (kitty treats, love) while the cats are doing nicely jointly. Cats are not the main smart pets, yet they are literally able to processing "enjoying superb gets me a kitty take care of"

Depends where you buy it from. I got my purebred siamese for only $300. You should look in animal shelters. Siamese cats are extremly friendly and are as close to a person as a human. I hope you buy a siamese cat but make sure to buy everything for him/her before you buy the cat. =)

Check online for breed rescues, the cats they take in are breed specific (persian rescue groups for persians, siamese rescue groups for siamese) and they're always looking for homes for the rescue cats. They won't cost anywhere near what a breeder charges.

Have you checked your local shelter? Fully a quarter of animals that end up in shelters are purebred something or others.
