He was one of the greatest theologians of all time. He knew infinitely more than any member of an unauthorized manmade church could possibly know. Still, he did not speak with the full authority of the Church. Theologians can only present ideas to the Church. It is the final decision of the Church that matters, since anything the Church binds upon earth is bound in heaven.
