sorry again Contacts, can't help it.
And to my Christian contacts, I am NOT trying to disrespect you mmkay? Just want to know your comment

Part of the reason I borrow ideas from Shinto and Buddhism is because they don't seem to keep on telling me that I'm some bad person because of a garden that needs to be saved by a guy who walks on water. It is like if I was stuck in a jungle for years and some dude just hopped up to me and said, "hey you suck but guess what they is a guy that can help you!" I hardly know if I can truly call myself a Christian anymore because I do not believe some of the things in the Bible. But then again I used to believe Jesus was my savior but if I do not believe that the Garden of Eden is valid how can he be my savior? And I was told that Jesus did not say he was my savior.

Sorry, I meant "am I the only Christian that is somewhat disturbed". Obviously if you are Atheist you are not too fond of the story. I am not sure I believe in the garden anymore

whatever I was mumbling my thoughts, sometimes when I do that I have good answers of people who understand what I am asking. If you did not understand it then do not bother posting. Maybe you are having a grumpy day but please do not take out your rudeness on me. You have no idea who I am, what I have been through, nor do I have any idea who you are. So please treat my question with respect.

All I know to tell you is one particular scripture.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You say "I was told that Jesus did not say he was my savior."
You where told? This shows you don't know the scripture for yourself. Now you are letting other dotrines and beliefs into your mind. Cast down these imaginations. If God be God then follow him, be very careful and don't lose your soul. Reasoning with other doctines or other religions allows Satan to enter into your mind. He will decieve you if you let him. You must know the Bible for yourself.

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

It's not to late to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have my own doubts about the garden. I suspect that it is somewhat metaphorical. I also suspect that many Christians don't know what it means.

The part of the Bible that I was interested in was the part that had Jesus own teachings.

I think it's kind of a TIME AND CIRCUMSTANCE scripture as far as the stories go. (because for those times, those stories helped benefit the ignorant people of the times, by turning them to God and good.)

As far as the truths about love and service to God and humility etc, I think it's TIMELESS.

I just think that you have been talking to the wrong kind of people, hung out with the wrong people not helping you to grow in your faith, and your allowing other people's form of view take control over whoever the real you is; if you believed and had faith, you wouldn't question your own beliefs. You also would know it doesn't matter what people say and think and act, what matters is what you feel is right. But you can't live a double standard life and double speak yourself, you either believe or you don't, simple as that.

And you need to stop listening to lies, but hear the truth; talk to me sometime about it, I will help you with whatever you doubt.

I was born and raised a Christian, but then I also became disenchanted with Christian theology as I grew older. Traditional Christian theology assumes that all people are inherantly evil (because of original sin) and are thus in need of salvation. It also assumes that all sin requires punishment in order to be forgiven and that the punishment for sin is death. Most Christians then believe that Jesus (being innocent and unaffected by original sin because of his virgin birth) then takes the punishment for all of our sins and we are forgiven for all time in the eyes of God by believing in his atoning sacrifice. Like you, I personally also dislike the idea that all human beings are inherantly evil. I also personally think that the God of Christian theology has a repulsive sense of justice. If I commit a crime, would justice be served if my Mom or my best friend stood up in court and offered to serve my prison sentence? True Christianity has been twisted and warped beyond recognition over the centuries. I love Jesus' teachings, but dislike all the theological baggage. It is in this sense only that I can be considered to be a Christian. I consider Jesus to be my savior because he points me in the right direction towards God. Unless I am like Jesus and am loving, forgiving, compassionate, and just, bearing good and righteous fruit, then I certainly don't know God. I should mention that my ideas concerning God and God's nature differ substancially from those of most Christians.

Why do you not believe the Garden of Eden existed? Maybe you should do some studying that does not involve people who have agenda's to discredit God. Jesus didn't just say "you suck" to anyone. the things he said people already knew in the spirit he was telling the truth. He was confirmation to what they already knew in their hearts (good and evil, right and wrong).

I'm sorry that you don';t believe in the Garden of Eden account however that doesn't change it from being true.
I assure you that Jesus Christ loves you and is waiting for you to accept Him as Lord and Savior.
It is through His grace and shed blood that redemption is offered.

Adam and Eve is symbolic of all of us . We come into this world free of judgment and analyasis. As we eat the fruit we begin to let the mind color all things that we see and experience. I must agree that if Jesus saved us from sin, why are they still teaching everyone that they are sinners. That seems like a denial of His gift!

I believe there are sects of christianity that believe much of the bible is metaphorical. Perhaps you could research for one that is more in keeping of your personal beliefs?
