Are the inner metal parts of the GLOCK coated with Tennifer like the slide and barrel? I was curious as to whether or not the springs, firing pins, etc shared the same Tennifer coating as the outer parts of the pistol.

No, they are not . tennifer would not work on moving parts such as springs etc.

Tennifer is NOT some black finish on the slide! Tennifer is a process applied to slide and barrel that is colorless upon completion. A naked Glock barrel and slide will not rust (Naked, as in no black coating). The newer Glock finish is very proprietery and does not come off easy like the old Glock finish. Neither finish is tennifer. I am a former owner of Glocks and I had a scratch to the bare metal on a Model 17 slide (diamond hard tennifer would not "scratch off"). Glock is very, very secretive about their polymer (nylon recipe) and all their metalwork processes.

As far as I know, only the slide of the Glack is Tennifer coated.
