Yes you do; being the only male in the family has nothing to do with signing up with the Selective Service. To clear something else up-I assume you are thinking Sole Surviving Son exemption from the draft? You are not a sole surviving son unless you had a brother or your father killed while in the military and are the only other male. Being an only child or only male child has nothing to do with sole surviving status.

Yes, every male American citizen is required to register with the Selective Service when they turn 18 years of age. No exceptions

Currently all males must sign up for selective service when they turn 18..no exemptions. As there is no draft in place, weather they would exempt you later on is irrelevant...you won;t be called to serve currently. If things change, there may be some exceptions then.

yes the previous answerers are correct as a sole survivor myself I registered in '74 the last year of the draft and was given an exemption ( classified 1-H). On my own I went through ROTC in college and entered the military as an officer in '78.

Yes now the chance of you ever being drafted is smaller than being hit by lightning twice in the same spot

Yes I believe so. If you are the "surviving son" meaning the last to carry on the name you will get an exception from going to war.
You can go to sss.gov and click on the fast facts tab and it will explain it to you.
