You know I've often wondered this too...why have my past boyfriends all been jerks and treat me like ****?
Part of the reality is that women think they can change men in a relationship. The thrill and commitment of a guy changing to their woman is romantic and sweet, but how often does that really happen. The other part of it is that women really don't realize the type of person they're dating or going after because they're blind or because they don't care they just want that person.
I personally think it's all a part of life. Some God out there is making you wait for the right girl because he believes that you should really have someone special, he's not going to waste a nice guys on someone who's promiscuous or dishonest. He wants to make sure that all the nice guys have a girl who is truly a great person.
I think you just really have to wait for the right girl to pop up and you'll be amazed at how well it'll turn out.

Near the top of the Y!A page is a place where you can "Search for questions". I did a search for "nice guys, bad guys" and a long list came up. Check it out. You may get some understanding in those answers as well. A lot of others share your surprise that many women care about men who hurt them.

ITS WOMENS PRIMAL INTUATION THAT SAYS BAD GUYS ARE COMMANDING AND HAS LEADER QUALITY
NICE GUYS ARE CONSIDERED WEAK,,, THEY ONLY COME TO THE NICE GUY WHEN THE FUN IS OVER, NOW DO YOU WANNA WAIT FOR THAT ? ALL THOSE LEFT OVERS ?
This very suggestion is gonna irk so many women here i know, but thats the brutal truth, be nice to the nice women and be a jerk to the idiotic women,,,, this is what i have done and guess what i get all the good women which i treat rite and when you get the right one, stick to her and bring down the power balance between her and you,, it suppose to be equal

But it's the nice guys that end up with the gal, they get married, settle down, have children, and have a wonderful life together (usually). If you think about it, it's the bad guys that end up single, or divorced several times by the time they're 50!
My thoughts: a long term relationship doesn't usually last with the 'mean' guys; they are out for fun, not commitment.

Age old question man. It takes a few bad relationships before they figure out.. "Hey Friday night Johnny football hero beat my *** every night just might not be a good choice in mates. Perhaps i should try a nice guy next time."
The other side of it is that they think they can "save them"
....and yet another side.. some girls get it into their heads that they do not deserve a nice guy... when in reality. ALL women deserve to have a good guy.

I dont think any women would love to be in a miserable situation. The thing is those "bad guys" have more balls to flirt & eventually get into a relationship with women (most esp. vulnerable ones) which "good guys" doesnt have or have little guts to do so.

because woman seek excitement and the majority of the time the nice guys are too nice? in reality every woman wants a nice guy but some woman are at different stages then others and need the excitement to appreciate the niceness.

I think people do this because of deep-seated low self-esteem. Being treated well isn't truly comfortable for them because they don't fell like they deserve it. This is on a very base level, many women would deny this -- but not a lot of people really **truly** love themselves enough to feel they deserve happiness. Most people will say they do.......but they're actions in life (choosing crappy relationships) prove otherwise.

It's because women wanna live life... the bad guys are more naughty and daring when it comes to doing things... and so they stick with them
but when they wanna settle down, it's the nice guys they go for...
but it could all just be on the girl.... ;-) everyone has their own opinions and likes... you just have to find the right one

i'm not one that goes for the guy that treats me badly.i'm use to being treated like a queen and will look for that same kind of guy again.my husband worshipped the ground i walked on for over 30 years and loved me till the day he died unconditionally.the guy i want today i hope will have the same qualities as he had and treat me as he did,with respect and love.he will have the same qualities or he wont be a part of my life.i get to choose who i want to be with and it wont be a guy that doesn't show respect or is abusive or anything other than a loving,caring,passionate,devoted man.
