If they were very open and honest, and told you about it very early on... would you date someone who has genital herpes?

Would I? I have... twice! My second fiance had it and I stayed with him and never got it. My most recent boyfriend (now ex) also has it and I've yet to test positive for the virus.

There are some ppl who would date someone with it and some ppl who won't. You can't predict what others will do. You can only do what's right for you. If you like someone and they were honest with you before you became intimate, then maybe you should consider it ONLY if you really like them and see a future with them.

Herpes is not a death sentence. It is treatable and manageable. 1 in 4 women have it and 1 in 5 men have it. Of that, 90% have no clue they have it cuz they've never been tested. When you go for your regular STD testing, they do NOT test you for herpes. You have to specifically ask to be tested for it and unless you have a primary care physician, you'll have to pay big bucks for it!

I got both men to go get tested and when we found out, I stayed with them both. Why? Because I truly cared for them. Although neither relationship has faired well, I still feel that I've learned so much from them! If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be as educated about herpes as I am now. But it is still a personal choice. If you feel that the person is potentially worth the risk, go for it... just ALWAYS USE PROTECTION!!!

Most ppl with it are asymptomatic meaning they never show symptoms but they can still spread it. A lot of ppl with either kind can tell when an outbreak is coming on due to tingling and itching in the affected area the day before an outbreak. But still, so many ppl do not have these signs because they don't have outbreaks.

Condoms will protect you from aquiring herpes II in most cases. That, along with the person taking suppressive therapy meds, means you're virtually safe. My doctor told me this. And about oral sex, it is extremely unlikely to contract type II in or around the mouth but you can get type I (oral) on the genitals easily.

Don't have sex with an outbreak and wrap it up when you don't. I'm living proof that you can remain STD free with proper education, safety precautions, and some prayer, too! :o)

It's your choice tho... make an educated decision and don't base it on the stigma associated with the disease. What if you had it? You wouldn't want ppl judging you for it. But at the same time, it's not YOUR fault that they got it in the first place. I'm just blessed that I have not been infected with herpes. I get tested every 3 to 6 months due to the status of my previous partner(s).

Anyway, this is a tough one... but whatever you decide is the way it should be. GOOD LUCK!!!

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/CuresHerpes2o15dkfL

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Without playing games, don’t be available 100% of the time or let your life be an open book. A man that comes on too strong or doesn’t have outside interests will scare a woman away just as much as it would if the circumstances were reversed. Read here https://tr.im/gdpA4

Women don’t want to feel as though they are completely responsible for your happiness and that is what it feels like when the other person has no outside interests. Men who are overeager or jump when the woman says jump are the ones who are more likely to end up in the friend zone. This doesn’t mean that you should play the game of not calling for a few days; it means that you should set healthy boundaries until you both naturally find a spot for the other in your lives.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.
