No crap for me please! I believe that the planet is warming and that we should be thankful it is. Because that means it will probably be longer before we have another ICE AGE. Everything on this planet does better when the temperature is warmer except those few animals that are adapted to extreme cold. Well news flash people, animals go extinct when the climate changes. We don't have mammoths and saber-tooth tigers running around do we? no... We also don't have Giant Cave Bears anymore either, THANK GOD, they would make polar bears look like poodles. The point is that the earth changes and life forms come and go, we humans have only come into our own in the last 10,000 years and we are just now starting to understand things. We (people in the present) have a hard time understanding what things were like 100 years ago and we think because we have tracked temperatures for 30 years we know ALL about the planet's weather??? We haven't seen anything! Geologists can make better predictions about what kind of weather we should expect in the future than any "climate experts" because geologists look at data on a much larger scale. Predictions are always better when you have more data. It's all about finding a pattern or trend. What might look like a huge spike on one graph might just be a tiny bump on a much larger graph. If it were all based on science there would be none of this hype but once you get politics and celebs involved you can throw science right out the window. All these references to "peer reviewed papers" big deal! That's like asking hippies to write a report on the benefits of smoking weed and then having their friends review it. Doesn't mean squat. All their data references are to 30 years ago when they started recording it. Give me a break!
I believe in reducing pollution and finding cleaner sources of energy but it should be for a real reason not some made up excuse like "global Warming". How about we preserve our water supply because we want to drink clean water, not because of Global Warming!

Skeptics, go to the url below for what the U.S. National Academy of Sciences has to say about global warming. The U.S. National Academy of Sciences is made up of 2,000 members elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research, of whom more than 200 have won Nobel Prizes.
Those who are concerned about global warming will find this site worth looking at.

99+% of scientists around the world believe global warming is real and mostly caused by us. And any number of very distinguished people, too.
"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”
Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command
Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly, short and long.

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know - except maybe Newton's second law of dynamics. Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point,You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."
Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

Global Warming is just that, a bunch of liberal crap. And if anyone believes this they are idiots. It is no warmer now than it ever was. I can remember summers in the 100's and for the last few years it has been cooler. Gore and the entire democratic party are all stupid.

No, not for one minute, it cannot be an enhanced greenhouse process for many reasons, not the least of which, the continent of Antarctica has not warmed since we began directly measuring it's temperature. And we know CO2 has risen in the air over Antarctica because that is were almost every graph that is thrown in front of our face showing the record of the CO2 increase comes from. Proxy data from Ice core samples from Antarctica, so if all of this evil man made CO2 is capturing heat, then why isn't Antarctica heating up.
Why did Antarctica have the largest coverage of sea ice this year, if the world is heating up?

To me global warming means "Global destabilization" since the weather around many parts of the world is not only getting warmer, it is just becoming more erratic with fiercer storms, colder and hotter weather, more floods, etc, so as to why they call it global warming I am not quite sure, but I really think that it should be called global destabilization, and yes I believe.
I have lots of info that I think you will find quite helpful and enlightening:

Obviously the pollution and deforestation we are responsible for has a negative impact on the environment. Whether Global Warming is man made or not, we should still treat earth with more respect.

That's just what big oil wants you to think, proving that their effort to provide the illusion of "scientific debate" on this matter has sadly been a success.
I'm a geologist-specifically a Paleontologist, which means I'm exposed to a lot of scientific disciplines, such as Oceanography and Biology. All signs in all fields point to global warming. We've lost 1/3 of the northern polar ice in two years- an unprecedented rate and magnitude of melting. Clearly, something is going on. We know that what is occurring is happening faster than it ever has in the past, and that every time there were changes of this magnitude, it severely altered ecological dynamics and generally precipitated large extinction events.
I think if you took some basic science courses and critically evaluated available scientific data in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and looked at the findings from international science panels, you'd have quite a different opinion than what people get filtered through the media.

I agree, the earth is going through another cycle. Humans did not cause the first Ice age when all the polar caps melted, so what makes people think we are doing it now. Maybe we sped up the process some, but it is bound to happen regardless. That is how the earth works. Most of the posters who have replied on here have not done any research and are just followers who are agreeing with the likes of celebrities. If there is proof that we have caused global warming other than people saying we have, I want to see it and somebody post it. Otherwise start reading what scientists are saying about global warming, and read about the history of the Earth. Think for yourself, you might be surprised.
Most of this information about global warming is the fault of the media. They blow so much out of proportion and interview one of two people who think global warming is going to cause the demise of the earth and mankind within the next 20 years, that people actually start to believe it. Yes there is more pollution and waste, but pollution in our oceans and trash pileups are not what is causing global warming. For those that think we are going to be die from global warming, you are wrong. We will all be dead before we are affected by this. Oh, so I ask you all who disagree with me, what is your solution. What are you going to do to change things? Are you going to b*tch like celebrities and then get in your private jet which is probably even more of a waste than any vehicle on the planet? Look at Leonardo Dicaprio. He complains and complains at different functions about global warming. But has anyone ever asked him how he travels the world? I am pretty sure it is not by sailboat. Let me tell you from experience, in 12 hours a 4 prop c-130 plane will burn about 35k lbs of jet fuel. One barrel of oil produces 4.5 gallons of jet-fuel. 35lk lbs is about 4000 gallons. That is almost 890 barrels of oil for one 12hr trip. Starting to see my point? Don't even get me started on how much water is wasted washing one aircraft either.
