Try replacing it with something else. I know it sounds obvious but if you find something else that you really enjoy to drink that is healthier (juice, for instance) it might stop you from drinking so much pop. Keep persisting to find that replacement!

I wish I had an easy answer for you. I once was totally addicted too. The answer that's probably best for you is to drink water instead whenever you are craving a soda...but that wasn't very realistic for me. Drinking water will not make you stop craving the good stuff! What worked for me was I weaned myself off by buying those little Crystal Light sleaves and shaking them up in a bottle of water. That makes it a little less painful than just plain water. If you have a Wal-Mart near you their house brand (Great Value) makes the same thing as Crystal Light (I swear they taste the exact same) for half the price. Here in Missouri you can get a box of 12 for less than $2. They have great flavors...anything from Peach Tea to Rasberry (which kinda tastes like kool-aid). I wish I could help more, but I will tell you that it sucks for while because your body really does crave it. Congrats on the birth of your son...I have 3 girls and 2 boys and it's the best thing ever being a mama...it only gets better from here!

Colas and other carbonated drinks have around 170 calories per 12 ounce serving. "Fountain" drinks are often dispensed in 32 or 44 ounce servings. That's like 600 calories IF you don't go back for a refill.
No wonder we are fat.
I also crave the sweet and fizzy. I go once a week to the local Kroger store and get a 12-pack of carbonated water. (No flavoring or sugar of any kind.) Then I go down the juice aisle and pick out a bottle of "lite" cranberry or cran-grape juice. The kind I buy has about 40 calories in 8 ounces.
When I want a soda, I open a can of the fizzy water, pour into a glass until the glass in about 3/4 full, the top it off with the juice.
I get a fruity-flavored fizzy drink with about 20 calories per glass. Its low sugar and no caffeine, so it doesn't interfere with my sleep.
Try it.

I used to have the same problem, the sugary sweet taste is very addictive, and drinking like 6 pops a day can turn quiet expensive....I restricted myself to one pop a day, but that didn't work because as long as i had pop setting in the kitchen i was more likely to drink them.....and as long as i had cold pop in the frig, i was more likely to go grab one as opposed to them being hot setting in the cupboard, so i switched up to cold brew tea.....you can make it in cold water and it only takes about 4min to make.......then added sugar free sweetener to give it a little kick.....after about a week i was a non-popaholic..........they also make a variety of sugar free flavored drinks that you can drop into water like crystal lite...its pretty good..

here's a couple of ways to try. If you're drinking pop with caffeine try having a pop and then when you want another have bottled water. The next day do a pop and then 2 bottles of water.
OR buy your reg pop and the caffeine free version of it. do the same thing as the water trick. It's the caffeine that you want and you have to ween yourself off of it.

Stop bringing it in the house.. buy a 20oz bottle as a treat/fix when you are out for a walk or whatever, but limit yourself.
It's not easy giving up pop, everything else tastes flat or bland compared to it.

Instead of going cold-turkey, you could just keep cutting down your intake. Replace your pop intake with water. I used to dislike drinking water until I forced myself to drink it. Now I really like it. It's more refreshing than pop.
I don't think there is anything wrong health-wise with one pop a day. I usually have one Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi each day with lunch.

It is an addiction. They say one addiction leads to another or if you stop one you start another. So I suggest start drinking another kind of drink ALL the time thats better for you and soon you will become hooked on that instead of soda.

Try carbonated water with lemon or lime juice, some stores even sell it that way in cans, it has no sugar and no calories, and you still get the bubbles too, much healthier for you!
