If you're looking for someone to stroke your ego, that's not likely to happen here.
Roman Catholics are merely one group of those who call themselves Christian, and who follow the particular set of scriptures that were collected by men into the volume called the Bible.
They are neither better nor worse than any other group of Christians. Some are moral, generous and nice, others are evil, noxious and greedy. It doesn't really matter what religion you are, you still get to choose the sort of person you shall be.

Well, that is sort of just like the "Calvinist" as opposed to "Hyper-Calvinist" deal. People have made a semantic model that is helping them converse a elaborate inspiration in a unmarried image. Sure, technically, [C]atholicism is broader than the Latin Rite, even though you ought to confess that the Latin Rite is the only such a lot acquainted to modern day Western societies. Why is that? Could it's absolutely the crushing dominance of the Italian Home Office with admire to the lesser traditions? Might you reduce somewhat slack for the ones folks taking the 50,000 foot view of the problem? If the next day, the adjectival use of "Roman" to delineate [C]atholicism's center nucleus of doctrine had been with no trouble stopped, it could take no time at desirous about a brand new adjective to exchange it, because the linguistic want for this kind of gadget is truly and inescapable. I feel anything like "Papal Catholicism" possibly an sufficient alternative. In any occasion, historical past has created the identification you search to rehabilitate by means of remarketing beneath a extra impartial manufacturer identify, and traditional language will fill any vacuum left in the back of by means of synthetic phrase video games used to suppress the poor institutions of the Roman label.

I am Roman Catholic also even though I wasn't born in Rome haha. Seriously I get on well with everyone even ones who are not Catholics. I think it is a religion that very few people take serious anymore. Here in the republic of Ireland where I am from and bear in mind the republic is a catholic country, the number of people going to mass has fallen over the past few years. Also there are very few marriages taking place. I got married in a catholic church myself but most people today are living together rather then tie the knot.

I think we need to study our faith more so we can know just how fortunate we are to be in the Church that teaches the fullness of Chrit's truth.
We can start with this:
http://www.catholic.com/library/Pillar.asp
then we can move up to this:
http://shop.catholic.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-B0201.html?L+scstore+ykbn7845ffd6b1d6+1218889624
You cannot share with others what you first do not make your own
EDIT: To Capri 1230 : The Catholic Church GAVE you the New Testament. What the heck are you talking about?
To Wise One : The Catholic Church is not a denomination. Those came when people started breaking away from the Church. Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing. The line of popes can be traced back, in unbroken succession, to Peter himself. This is unequaled by any institution in history. Even the oldest government is new compared to the papacy, and the churches that send out door-to-door missionaries are young compared to the Catholic Church. Many of these churches began as recently as the nineteenth or twentieth centuries. Some even began during your own lifetime. None of them can claim to be the Church Jesus established.

Honestly if Jesus actually existed and I had proof of this, and all he did, I'd become a Catholic. Closest form of Christianity alongside Eastern Orthodoxy that was practiced by the early Christians.
I was raised a Protestant all I can say is that they're liars, ignorant, hypocritical, and that's just the tip of the ice burg (well not all ofcourse, but most.)

I think if you're going to use the Bible as a guide for your beliefs, they follow the Bible more literally than any other Christian denomination. The Eastern Orthodox are a close second. Matthew 16:18 is the tie-breaker between the two of them.

There are some Roman Catholics that I love. I am a Protestant who loves God, and I am convinced that there are some saved Roman Catholics.
What the various Roman Catholic dioceses have done is allow variants in God's word which rely on tradition and errant doctrine to the doctrines which are expressed in God's word. Some of the dioceses have allowed severe errors into the church, which is ironic because of the root word meaning of 'diocese' :
[OE. diocise, OF. diocise, F. dioc['e]se, L. dioecesis, fr. Gr. ? housekeeping, administration, a province, a diocese, fr. ? to keep house, manage; dia` through + ? to manage a household, ? a house.
So the housekeeping has been poorly demonstrated.
But for those who have been saved within the church, those who believe that trusting God through Christ is the way to salvation, I look forward to being with them in Heaven, and then onward to New Earth.

I have studied the history of Catholicism and I find it really scary. There seems to be a lot of pagan Ideas mixed in (for one thing) and so between the history of the Catholic church which has many unbiblical decisions that were made, combined with my current impression or view of the church is I don't see them "making disciples of all men" that is, teaching people to follow Jesus as the Shepherd of their souls and not men. I have been around men of God that are FULL of the Holy Spirit and power. I have shaken the hands of a priest and feel like I'm not close to God whatsoever. There is no power and presence of God on their lives in the cases I have met or scene. I do know there are men of God within the Catholic church who sincerely love and want to follow Jesus I just notice they seem to be few and far between. Most Catholics I have met let the church do all the work of serving and following God for them, they just go to mass, tithe, and hope to not get ex-communicated so they focus on pleasing the church not Jesus Christ personally. Jesus never seems very personal to them. That bothers me. I have no desire to come against or critisize any religion but I will be outspoken about why I would not choose to join myself to that congregation.

By and large I think of them the same way I think of everyone else. They are ALL God's beloved children and I will do whatsoever He tells me to do with and for them.
BUT, I must admit, on the human question, that I TOLD Him to stop with kittens and butterflies, that it wasn't gonna get any better than that, but what male has ever listened to a mere female? And so we got all youse guys. Be thankfull I wasn't the one doin' the creating!
PS: above written with tongue firmly in cheek. I too am Catholic.
