I am sorry that you were dealt with harshly about your questions from the bible. If I see your posts again I will try to answer them in truth and share with you the interpretive scheme of the passage from as many angles as I can.

I thnk that the reason many get so upset, to answer your current question, is that from a very young child I was taught that the bible was right, over and out! We are not to question it as by questioning it we are, in turn, questioning God! I was also not given an apologetic means to answer the critics of the scriprute, or those who merely had questions.

It was not until I was an older teen that I realized that I could know what God had in miond from scripture and that He wants christians to know His word and that I cannot expect non-christians to understand what was written to and for christians. All that said I still believe that when questions are issued we must truthfully answer all of them even if the one asking does not fully understand.

The same zealous nature of many fundamental christians that propels them to an unwaviering faith also pigeon-holes them into a place of not being able to be approached by those who have questions. Some people still go nuts when folks ask questions about the bible. I still have many questions about the scriptures but yet others have been answered. Your sweet approach has been noticed and I will look for other questions you have. You can e-mail me at any time with all the questions you have. I have been a pastor for over 25 years and would find it a joy to answer the qwuestions you have.

I did not answer your other question because you got all that from the 101 contractions in the Bible and this is from an Atheists site and book
I do not get mad, but as far as the Quran goes, If God is correct in all things, and Islam states that it is the final mess. from God, but the Quran contradicts the Bible and even the Torah, why the Quran

Most Muslims will state that the Quran is the last word from God to correct all that is wrong in the Bible and Torah, but it has taken many stories from the Torah and Bible and twisted it to suit Muhammad. If you open your mind and read between the lines of the Quran you will see that it was written for the Man only, and that in the end the women and children of Islam hold no true value, only the men do

But like I stated above, If God is correct in all things, then Why the Quran to correct what God spoke wrong of in the Torah and the Bible
Is not God correct in ALL things?

Because they don't have an answer for you. The worst thing, in their view, that you can do is be skeptical of their religion, because once you start questioning it and not taking it at face value, you begin to notice all of the fallacy and all of the circular logic. Part of why I became an atheist was that I studied and skeptically questioned the bible on my own, and I came to the conclusion that god(s) didn't fit into the scientifically explained universe in which we live. Furthermore, you can be good to others and treat others with respect without needing a book or religious re-enforcement to do it. But that's neither here nor there, I guess.

You have the right to respectfully question the Bible just as I have the right to respectfully question the Qur'an.

It is true that people, specially on the Internet, react very defensively when someone questions their holy book. For many, their book is the Word of God. Some believe that when someone raises questions about certain passages, it means that they are rebelling against God.

For me, the Bible (and the Qur'an) are books written by imperfect men who were committed to a perfect God. If one opens his heart to the teachings contained in these holy books, they will find God, and their hearts will be transformed. But, I believe (and I mean no disrespect) that these books are not perfect.

Anyway, I have been in your situation many times. I now go out of my way to express, when asking a question, that I respect those who think differently, that I hope someone might have the courage to explain their views to me.

Of course, EVEN when doing this, some STILL will attack me for even asking the question! But many others will see that my intent is not to attack but rather to seek ideas.

Peace be with you.

In one sense, I feel sorry for you presently, in another sense, you may be doing them a favor.
There is a conflict between what scripture says and what many 'Bibles' say. Apparently, many USA 'Christians' have not realized the conflict(s) presently. Applying the '2 or more witnesses' principle, given to Jews,Christians, and Muslims would help the difference significantly.
I have noticed the 'do not accept emails' also presently (usually I see it trying to send 'thank you's' for Best Answers). I hope it is a (did not realize one has to explicitly change it in Y(I was there)), rather than some other alternatives.

Sister, Ramadan Mubarak first of all. Second of all Islam teaches us to respect everyone around us. Attacking other peoples beliefs is not acting Islamically. The reason why you were attacked was because you were asking it in such a way that seems like you were taunting them and/or acting in a malicious way such as now. If the question was changed to where there were so-called "contradictions" in the Quran then I'm sure you would act the exact same way the Christians have in your question.

I guess it depends on the wording used. I do not know what question you asked or what was said so you might have worded it politely and people may have just attacked you. There are contradictions in the Bible because it was written by men. Not just one man but multiple men. It is the Christians objective to show compassion, caring, and love. Sadly we always do not succeed towards our goal. Peace

Because they don't know anything about their own faith. I am also a Christian, but when I see someone questioning thw Bible, I try to find an answer...a genuine answer, not a defensive retort that doesn't help Christianity's reputation at all. If I can't find an answer, I'm willing to say that I don't know.

As-Salāmu `Alaykum (السلام عليكم), Moonlit

Some Muslims, unfortunately, would be very upset too, when Non Muslims questioning Qur'an. The persecutions of Non Muslims (e.g. other Abrahamic Faiths) by Muslims still exist until now.

Please honestly reconsider your true intention of asking such question to Christians. May God's grace be upon you always, sister.

I have seen these questions before and they were addressed and answered by Kent Hovind of www.drdino.com and he has a good explanation for it as do others. I recommend people who their computer is working ask about "christians answer contradictions in the bible" on google or some search engine and find what Christian Scholars have to say about it. They are minor discrepencies but there are answers, nonetheless.
