In short, it's hard to say; many outstanding vocalists don't get the break that puts them into contact with their major influences and the latter's supporting personnel. In terms of precedents, Tanya Tucker got very lucky back in the '70's in order to pursue a recording career; Deborah Gibson was one of the hardest-working teenagers among undiscovered artists in the early- and mid-1980's, right up to Atlantic's signing her for a maxi-single (the eventual DM 86744 "Only in My Dreams") in 1986. What held then still holds true today; Destiny H. "Miley" Cyrus got lucky when, after one audition tape, producers at Walt Disney Television went with her for their situation comedy about a teen star with a very ordinary "cover" life (the eventual "Hannah Montana," still running). Suffice it to say that, even with a lot of effort into musical artistry, you'd still need some sort of lucky break to get a concert tour with the likes of Cyrus.

If you like to sing, you are a singer. If you desire fame and attention, that's up to your marketing people. Many folks are happy just to be able to sing, and they don't care if other people want to pay them for it or not.

You mean Miley Cyrus? Maybe. Go for it! If you dream it, who knows? It could come true. Don't let anyone tell you, that you can't.
