Can I do it online? Is it safe? What do I look for? How often should I check my report?

AnnualCreditReport.com is the site set up by the 3 credit bureaus for your free annual credit reports online. If you spread out your report from each bureau, you can monitor your credit thru the year.

You should check your credit report for any error or items that do not belong to you. You then dispute these items with the credit bureau and they should be removed within 45 days. This protects you against ID theft and makes sure your credit history and score are good.

Hi mate.

There are two credit reference agencies in the UK, experian and equifax.

If you go to www.experian.com, you can buy your credit report and print it off online for only £2. I have done this before - you get so much information its untrue !

I would probably not check my credit rating too regularly, but once a year is a good idea so that you can see what they hold against you !
