...whose magnificence and might is evident all around you...how can this be?

Who built that house? Somebody did! Who made that dress? An intelligent person
did! Who made that chair? That table? That car? Someone who is greater than the
chair, the table, and the car made them. Who made the trees? The flowers? The
birds? The animals? The earth? The rocks? The stars, sun, moon? Who made you ?
Someone who is greater, more intelligent than all of these made them and you.
That someone is the only true and living God . He is invisible to our eyes now,
because he is a Spirit . He lives in heaven. He is eternal . He has always
existed and he always will. We know Him because we see the things He has made .He is good to all and His tender
mercies are over all His works.e did not leave Himself without witness, in that he did good, gave us rain from heaven and
fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

I find this amazing as well. The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today. The human brain's complexity shows a higher intelligence behind it. There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people. How does one explain the human brain? "Chance" or "natural causes" are insufficient explanations.

The bottom line, to state with certainty that there is no God, a person has to ignore the passion of an enormously vast number of people who are convinced that there is a God. And the evidence is overwhelming that He does exist!

The magnificence and might of "God" is not evident at all.

Were there an almighty god out there, one would certainly expect him to be able to demonstrate some of that might - yet so far we have nothing whatsoever.

Have you noticed that in insisting that you have evidence for the existence of god, you not only sacrifice your honesty, but you also deny any role of "faith" in religious belief? If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you wouldn't need to pretend to have evidence.

But of course that faith would only serve to support your personal belief in gods.

If you admitted that you believed on the basis of faith alone, you'd have to accept the fact that others are perfectly reasonable in not believing. I think that you wouldn't find that kind of belief satisfying. I think that you choose to make up this evidence stuff because for you, religious belief isn't about a relationship with god, it's about bludgeoning non-believers and establishing your power here on Earth.

If you really had faith in god, you wouldn't be able to do that. You were in a position to choose between a deep spirituality, and a nasty political position - and you chose the latter. You abandoned both truth and your god. I pity you.

magnificence and might ? yes, theres grass and trees and birds, etc. but in reality chances are good that some little kid on your street is getting molested by her brothers best friend, some other family just lost a their son in iraq. then theres the huge earthquake in indonesia. and don't even get me started on the rampant political corruption thats bogging us down.
theres a tremendous amount of suffering around the world. things that nobody can do anything about. while that makes me thankful for what i have, it also affirms to be there can't possibly be a god. not a loving, compassionate one anyway. so i say thanks but no thanks.

The best proof God exists is no other than Jesus Christ himself. the Son and Word of God who became flesh. God the Father sent Jesus not only to redeem man. He was also sent to prove God exists. That’s why Jesus performed many miracles. They were done to prove his Deity and divine origin.
These miracles were witnessed and authenticated by many people. For example, the flesh and blood risen Christ was seen and touched by more than 500 people. (1 Corinthians 15,6). That’s why Christianity grew so fast after his resurrection.
“...awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity...”
Titus 2:13-14

Many churches teach this but the Bible says that no man can “accept” Christ because all men are spiritually dead:
And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (Ephesians 2:1)

The problem is that the Bible declares that man is spiritually dead in sin and totally incapable of mustering up faith in himself to salvation.
And there is none that calleth upon thy Name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: (Isaiah 64:7a)
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. (Romans 3:11)
No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: (John 6:44)

You see the magnificience and might all around us and do not give your praise to Yog-Sothoth for allowing you the privilege of continuing your puny life in this beautiful world, when he could just as easily crush you in one of his thousand palms, and watch the blood run from your broken body to feed the tulips? You should be very grateful to him for his indifference...Praise be to Yog-Sothoth, thank you for the gift of not-death!

Because there is no evidence that God exists and cares about us.

Maybe because it isn't? Just a thought. You may be ok with deceiving yourself into believing that kind of garbage, but I'm not.

This is well worn, I know but it is so appropriate for R&S.

As it is said, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof";
