Not to mention the blue tooth, crackberries and other annoying toys people seem to "need" just to keep in touch. What do you think?

The "best" I saw was a guy seated on the pot in the airport, transacting the supposed deal of the century. I was in the next stall flushing and flushing the toilet. It didn't even phase this guy, and the person at the other end could not have missed the noise. What is this world coming to?

I love that term "crackberrie" - it is so true! I hate those things.
Cell phones have made people rude in general. They don't pay attention to anything going on around them when on the phone. I think it's rude to be talking on the cell while you are at the checkout. It's disrespectful to the checkout clerk.
And people tend to talk louder when on the cell, which is annoying to people around them. There have been times when I've heard way more than I want to - a guy the other day pacing in front on the grocery store pharmacy. On the phone with his doctors office - he was desperate for them to call in his Viagra prescription because "it was the weekend and he had to have it" (those were his words). My husband and I just looked at each other trying not to burst out laughing.
Anybody see the comic who did the bit about people on cell phones "invading our public"? It was hilarious and so sadly true.

I am in agreement 100% with you!
Nothing more annoying than to see someone walking up and down the aisles of the store looking like they are talking to themselves!
Or to have someone at the table in a restaurant take a phone call.
Unless it is an emergency. TURN IT OFF for the short span of dinner.
I had a dinner guest here last evening...her phone rang...she took the call...THE WHOLE call..not tell them she would call them back. I just got up and started washing dishes.
SO RUDE!

I think your question belongs in Health / Safety.

Cell phone use has gone beyond Rude. It is not just a matter of good or bad manners. The use of cell phones should be strongly curtailed in public places as a safety issue.

And everyone should know the dangers of driving and "celling", however, you and I both know there is no common sense in this area.

I don't really mind when people talk on their cell phones in public...unless they're holding up a line or something.

I do mind if I'm out with a friend, however, and he or she gets a phone call and just talks on their phone forever instead of quickly ending the conversation so we can resume ours.

Oh, yes! I work customer service at Target and more often than not the people on their cell phones act like I'm inconveniencing them. One day I working, I watched this man talking on his cell phone with someone and then his other cell phone started ringing and he picked that one up, answered it, and started talking, too!

be a cashier or something trying to convey a message to a customer on a cell phone. yes that is rude.
but i know of one incident that led to tragedy...a girl had two daughters. she got the oldest one out of the car. she reached in to get the baby. a woman on her cell phone wasn't paying attention and got to close and ran over the older child. its worse than rude. people need to pull over or wait to get in line or whatever if the communication is more important that paying attention to what is going on around them.

AS for the drivers with their head up the as s end of their brains don,t get me started.
thinking of a big brush gaurd for front of my truck.

The way they seem to arrogantly say "Out of my way.. I'm talking to someone who isn't here." How do we know they are really talking to someone? They might just be insane.

I remember thinking this very thought when I first saw someone with a headset.

I think they need to ban cellphones while people are driving. California just signed a bill last week to ban cellphone use for teens while they are driving. If its dangerous for teens to use a cellphone while driving, how is it not dangerous for adults to use a cellphone. Cellphones should be banned for everybody while they're driving.
