I agree with your sentiment. I strongly feel that what is written here by others shows us the intolerance that exists. I do not think that this is just in this country but World Wide.
Is it not intolerance that creates hatred and wars?
The questions are often written in such away that I often wonder who are the extremists? Those of us who follow religious beliefs or the naive individuals that lack understanding. Perhaps if we started to criticise non religious believers that they would see the powerful hatred that can be created by words.
I am a Spiritualist and try to have patience and tolerance for others. I have actually stopped answering alot of questions as I am fed up justifying myself to those with narrow minds.
We should all embrace each others beliefs and ideals if positive for society. And stop criticising what we do not understand.
I offer these words in Love and Light.

I agree that a lot of people do insult other people's beliefs when it comes to religon. In the end all the insults are in vain because people are going to believe what they want to believe. When you slam another person for what they believe it usually just makes them believe even more in their beliefs.

Yes - and have a star for your excellent point.
Only two minutes ago I was reading some answers to a genuine question, and someone began saying really spiteful things about Jewish people.
It happens quite a bit on this site; I've seen many religious groups insulted. It is worrying that there are so many nasty people out there...

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen!
But as a Buddhist, I have had my beliefs insulted, laughed at, abused, and demeaned. "Am I bovver-ed?"
If you have a fragile ego that is easily insulted, maybe you should get rid of it altogether. No ego = nothing to insult. If there is a big "ME" for people to take a pot shot at, well then, they will. Buddha suggested we try and let go of attachment to our ego/pride/sense of separate self.
Give it a try. Ya might like it?
Be well

I don't agree it's a 'small minority', unless you take the total and divide by the number of IDs.

If you just want sunshine blown up you butt you've come to the wrong place. People need to take a long, hard, critical look at religion.
