Pride is looking down on others. It is any attitude that keeps you thinking you are in control, or that you are superior to anyone else.

"...Pride always means enmity-it is enmity. And not only enmity between man and man, but enmity to God.
"In God you come up against something which is in every respect immeasurably superior to yourself. Unless you know God as that-and, therefore, know yourself as nothing in comparison- you do not know God at all. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you."--C.S. Lewis, "The Greatest Sin"

sometimes, in our every day life we get caught up in the hoopla, and we forget what is really important.Money, power, prestige, there is nothing wrong with any of it. we just tend to always want more. God wants us to have pride and ambition, but, he also wants us to get our priorities straight. too much of anything is bad. we have to stop and smell the simplicity of gods love, and teachings, and listen, if you get to caught up you wont be able to find your way, this is not pleasing to god.
sister you got me started. glory to the most high.

I see pride as being absolutely sure that we understand that mystery, the mysterious, and the mystical in life are non-existent, being so attached to physical reality that we cannot see beyond it.
