My husband and I bought a 2007 Chrysler 300C SRT Design Group yesterday. We paid cash for it. When they were getting it ready they damaged it! YES...they pushed in the side panel ON THE BODY SEAM. They came in and told us what happened and told us we can drive our trade in home and they would fix the car like new and get it back to us ASAP. We have serious concerns after giving them $40,000 and having never drove the car ( other then test drive) are now receiving a damaged car, albeit, repaired. We had to ask for a loaner and they never offered to get us a replacement car or anything like that. What would you do?
As we think more and more about this, we think that they should get us a car to replace this one. We bought a NEW NOT DAMAGED AND REPAIRED car...shouldnt that be what we get? This car is hard to find, not so hard that they couldnt find one, just not all over the place. It is loaded up with everything except the rear assist. I would appreciate serious answers please.

I would think it would be reasonable to request at least a couple thousand dollar discount off of the vehicle because it needs repairs.

The other question is, the amount of damage done, will it show on the vehicle history? Is it that extensive? If it is, I would request they find a vehicle wherever they have to to replace it at no cost to you as you don't need one with a record before it's off the lot.

If they aren't willing to negotiate I'd take my money elsewhere because it would be a good indicator they wouldn't be very forthright if you needed to bring the vehicle there later due to other issues.

Best of luck.

Tell them of your worry and that worry would get much less if they took 2,000 off the price of there now dammaged and repaired car. Or tell them you contracted to buy a new 300c You are not happy and tear up the contract. And you will go out and buy a 2008. Get The Manager to make the deal right. And any repair to the car will be covered as long as you own it should any thing go wrong in the repaired area. I think 2k off the 40,000 to 3k depending on long repairs take is about right. I have to ask Wouldn't you have done better buying a Mercedes Benz?

Sucks but I don't think you can get a new err... newer car out of it. While it was damaged it sounds like something that's easily repairable so it's still new ya know? You could ask for another car and if they refuse then see if you can back out of the deal. I'm not sure at what point you can do that but since you haven't taken possession of the car yet maybe you can. Personally I wouldn't sweat it as long as the repair work was done correctly.

Yes but dont do it.That car will give you years of trouble.Especially transmission problems.Ive already seen high numbers of 300's with transmission problems in my shop.Buy a foreign car for half that price and be happier! Look at the BMW's and Lexus's if you have 5k down and can go 550-600 a month.Much better autos.Or look at the Infinity G35 Sedan that is a Beautiful Automobile not to mention fast!

If you wrote them a check-- stop payment and tell them you want a new car and go some place else and get a new car... Call and cancel the deal as paper work can not be filed on saturday..--- Don't sleep in--- Get your trade in...

If you can stop payment on line --do it...
I would not spend that kind of money -- damaged merchandise...

i would not take delivery of this car, you are stuck because are dealing with what seems like a car dealer determined to convince you all is well, if you have doubts refuse the car , however you might be stuck if dealer titled the car, call lawyer asap to determine rights

TELL THEM TO DO A NATIONAL SEARCH FOR THE SAME VEHICLE AND IF THEY STILL CANNOT FIND ONE THEN YOU EITHER HAVE THEM FIX IT OR ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK, I AM SURE THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FIND ONE WHEN YOU ASK FOR THE MONEY BACK.
