I have no TV and subscribe to no paper-ink newspaper, but I read lots of books and have my favorite internet news sources. When I focus on my own spiritual growth and being a true friend, I am extremely happy. When I focus upon the condition of the world, I am too sad, even though I know the world is being painfully reshaped and restructured to work as a whole planet, instead of selfish nations.

p256 " Chief Plenty Coups (Crow) gives a farewell address in 1909 at The Little Bighorn council grounds in Montana:
The Ground...is the dust and blood...I see as in a vision the dying spark of our council fires, the ashes cold and white. I see no longer the curling smoke rising from our lodge poles.I hear no longer the songs of the Women as they prepare the meal. The antelope have gone; the buffalo wallows are empty. Only the wail of the coyote is heard...We are like birds with a broken wing. My heart is cold within me. My eyes are growing dim..."

I see no longer the songs of the women... The antelope that used to roam these plains have gone and all the wild animals have disappeared. Only the wail of the jackal is heard, and the cry of the hammerbird...My heart is cold inside me and my eyes are growing dim."

unworthy entertainment? Have you seen the crap coming out of hollywood since the dawn of telivision? Its all crap, always has been. Just now its so dumbed down even the TV zombies that get obsessive over shows like "beauty and the geek" can still zone out and not absorb a thing. Its equally as pathetic as people who live by the news, obsess over other reality shows, or wait in line for Harry potter when the could walk in and pick it up w/ no issue a day or 2 later . . . but hey at least they are reading . . . .

I watch television but not much. I do catch the occasional episode of the original CSI, like Antiques Roadshow on PBS among other PBS specials, the discovery channels, the learning channel and the various history channels. Sometimes I will have sports on in the background when I am cleaning. I only average about 4-5 hrs of television watching per week.

For me, peace has nothing to do with it... oft times there are just other things I'd rather be doing and the fact that most stuff on tv is just garbage.

I still watch TV but am very conscious of making a choice in what I watch. I personally like the old sitcoms they were funny. non violent, and free of vulgarity and explicit sex. The Andy Griffith Show, Ed Sullivan, Carole Burnett, I Love Lucy, Milton Berle, The Honey Mooners , The Twilight Zone, etc. were the old standards too bad they are not still.

You are so Right. My TV set always was on from morning until night .... Me on the Web, interacting with News and opinions like that... TV, more a glorified radio as I use it.. Anyhow. Nights, the sex Voodoo comes from the screen... girls advertising expensive hot calls, to never date an animal as it were. As far as Psychology has thrown them, in the darkest pit of wither to forget Now the pit blew a lid, for the pit Overfilled by Goat... Rules everywhere.

I quit watching television, reading newspapers and listening to the radio around 15 years ago. It helped a lot in removing anger and negative energy from my life.

I've not succeeded yet in going a full presidential term without knowing who the prez is, but I did manage to not know who the vice prez was through one term.

Maybe I'll manage on the next one.

I am not a prime timer. I don't watch reality shows or American Idol and such. I watch educational shows mostly, but I do enjoy watching the sci-fi channel and sci-fi shows. My husband likes to watch the news and sports, which I get tired of after a couple of hours.

I don't generally watch much television save a few select shows. It's ridiculous to not have peace in your life due to television, though.

I don't watch a lot of the stuff that is on T.V. these days but I still watch, you see I have a strong belief and my mind is very sharp and strong. I am not swayed by what I watch. Peace be with you!
