this guys who is like old old call me a hotty while i was with my mom at a farmer's market....i saw him and he grin so i walk away. umm was i rude for doing that or should i have said thanks to him for the compliment?

If you were with your mum, he should've called her a hotty too - so he's the rude one for ignoring her. If you were on your own though, he shouldn't have approached you. It wasn't a compliment so no need for thanks. It's only a compliment if you wanted the approach in the first place....which you didn't!
