1 Corinthians 1:20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Paul was referring to how the Greeks liked to have "wise men" construct philosophical theories to try to explain human existence and the meaning of life.

Acts 17:16 Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. 17 So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.

18 Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, "What does this babbler wish to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities"--because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection. 19 And they took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? 20 For you bring some strange things to our ears. We wish to know therefore what these things mean." 21 Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.

The Bible teaches that on our own we cannot know much about God except that He exists through the revelation of God in his creation. To really know Him and to know specific things about Him, He had to reveal truth to us through Jesus and the prophets and today by his Spirit and what is written in the Bible.

God has also gifted some people to help believers grow in their knowledge of Christ and to avoid getting caught up in the teachings of worldly individuals.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

The word world in here stands for the "unbelievers". For how can unbeliever of God, even Lord Jesus knew Him?

In simple and plain language how can you know (by wisdom) someone if you believe they don't exist? Can you knew someone by believing not?

The highly educated people did not know God, It does not mean that if someone is educated, can not believe in God, But as a whole those, they can not use their earthly wisdom to understand God. He that tries to know God carnally will only see carnal things, but those that use the spiritual wisdom can understand God.

It approach wordly knowledge, one more knowledge different that the only God needs (ie Godly knowledge). People who believe and depend on worldly knowledge can not receive God's knowledge given that exact matters with ease look nonsensical to them. For illustration, if God says that to give up to him is victory, they unearths it unacceptable. If he says that to be a chief is to be a servant, they discover it unacceptable too cos they wish management for self-glory or self-satifisaction. If God says that you'll be able to get salvation through believing and collaborating in Jesus' loss of life and resurrection by way of baptism, they discover it silly too given that they can not think something might be unfastened on the earth and it's absurdity to them. Some can not receive that God will have emotion, which they feel, might imply that they may be able to be manipulated through guy. It is all guys's sinful tendency too to believe in our possess judgement, belief, instinct, logical reasoning than to believe God. Thus, commonly, the extra trained a character is, commonly the extra he's hindered through his worldly knowledge to think in God. I have talked to scientists in Singapore who is aware of so a lot more than many others of the surprise of existence and many others but discover it so difficult to think it is all from a writer. Hope this is helping. It is my first time answering a query on Yahoo.^^
