A lot of wars ARE religious wars. A Jihad is a holy war. I think that if Israel were to go to war, the Jews there would all fight. India and Pakistan all the Hindus and Muslims would fight. Come to think of it, this question is better than I had thought. Maybe religious people shouldn't fight in wars, then there would fewer wars.

The world wars are about POWER, not relegion. Even those stated to be about relegion are most likely just about power. The relegion is an accessory that helps to modivate some of those doing the fighting.

But for the question, YES religousp people should fight in wars. If they were not allowed to, the worlds militarys would be reduced beyond recognition since so many have a faith in a god. Many of those in the US military have a strong faith and it helps them on joining the military because they feel in their heart it is the right thing to do.

Look to history for your answer. How long have Israel and Palestine been fighting? Religion in the middle-east is not something that you do on Sundays. Religion there is a way of life. No where does it say that all Soldiers, Sailor, Marines, or Airmen are condemned to Hell for a war that they were directed to fight. Fighting for your beliefs is far more honorable than hiding because of your beliefs

In case you are not aware, most wars around the world are about religion. If there werent any religious wars, the world would be a much happier place to exist in. Dont these people who fight in religious wars understand that God/allah/whoever would not exactly condone wars, and would probably hate the idea of war being declared in their name.

Greetings. since they are usually the ones who cause the war it is only right that they be allowed to die in that endeavor and let the rest of us live. Besides to a religious person death is only a opportunity to go to God, how can that be bad? For a non-religious person death is a bad thing.

Depends upon the individual's conscience. I knew a Quaker who had fought with distinction in WW2 as he believed that the war against the Nazis was a just war.
