One night 4 college students Were Playing Till Late Night and Didn't Study
For The Test Which Was Scheduled For The Next Day.
In the morning they thought of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty
and weird with grease and dirt. They then went up to the Dean and said that
they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return the tyre of
car burst and they had to push the car all the way back and they were not
in condition to appear for the test.
So the Dean said they can have the re-test after 3 day! s. They thanked him
and said they will be ready by that time. On the third day they appeared
before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test,
All four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test. They all
agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.
The Test consisted of 2 questions with the total of 100
Marks.

Q.2. Which tyre burst ?...............( 98 MARKS )

c) Back Left

A very nice and well thought one, although I don't see a question for us here. But, should we presume that the boys failed because they weren't smart enough to have a common answer for question # 2? The dean could have asked that question at the time the boys met him to express their inability to appear for the exams. Didn't the boys think about that?
A very nice one all the same. All students who have read your question will hopefully prepare themselves better in such situations.
Incidentally, although yours is more of a joke, this is a very well used lie detector test. I'll give you one instance. Many men from different countries visit the USA on an educational or work visa. Many want to stay on in that country forever. They want to get a Green Card i.e. US citizenship. Ordinarily, that is not legally available to these people. So they get married to women who are US citizens. Now these are usually marriages of convenience where the woman takes some money to get married. The man and the woman (she is the man's wife now) present themselves to the authorities as husband and wife. And the man gets his Green Card as a naturalised citizen. After that they go for a quick divorce.
The US authorities sensed something fishy at the large number of Green Card applications where a foreigner had married a US woman. They decided to try out the authenticity of such applications by employing the Dean's test. A common set of questions were put to each of them after they had been seated separately. Questions like, "When did you and your spouse return from work last night?"/"What did you have for supper?"/"What were the colour of the dresses that you and your spouse wore when you went to bed last night?" etc. are given to them. And you can well guess what happens when a couple is as unprepared as the students in your question.
