If something is complicated, there are more things that can go wrong. When something has many things that can go wrong, it has less reliability. THis is true not just for objects but also for theories and ideas. In science, there is the concept of parsimony which basically states that when there are two hypotheses or apparently equal merit, you should go with the simpler one. That is because something simple is more reliable.

He is saying the simplier a thing is the more likely it will not break.

For example, a hammer is simple just a piece of steel and a handle. So when was the last time you saw a broken hammer?

For something to be reliabile, it has to be simple.

Makes sense to me.

good luck
