if someone accused you of murder, would you ask them to proof it. say to them'where is your evidence'.
it's not something that you would take their word for, is it.

since eternal salvation is infinitely more important than being accused of murder, why do you accept it's existance and god's existence without the need for proof or any REAL (i mean scientific), evidence.

surely you wouldn't rely on faith or belief in anything lesser, such as being accused of killing someone.

i'm pleased for you. unfortunately your so called evidence is not scientific. you changed yourself, with a little help from an 'external' focal point, god, still doesn't mean god exists tho.

true, the physical is observable, but i was refering to god and the metaphysical. there is no evidence that a god created anything, only an assumption. please try to keep up.

Faith and belief in God are subjective experiences. Even if thunder and lightening bolts rained down upon all humanity and a huge flashing sign in the sky proclaimed "I Exist!" it would still be a subjective experience for each person and an individual decision to act upon such an experience or not. For most believers, God is implied in the existence of the universe, just as a baker is implied in sliced bread, and an artist is implied in a painting. Even if you disagree, it's not so difficult to understand the concept.

Right, thanks. As to being accused of murder, of course, who would not want scientific evidence to fail to place them at the crime scene and a good solid alibi from the person you were with at the time the crime was committed. However, a crime scene and belief in God are hardly comparable as one is of the physical universe and the other is of the spiritual realm, for which modern science has no methodologies to observe and measure. Belief is an inner reality. Scientific evidence for a crime scene is an outer physical reality, two different spheres of existence.

Make no mistake that I am trying to convince you or anyone to believe in God. That does not happen from convincing the mind. I merely enjoy the discussion on R&S. All the best.

You call "REAL" evidence scientific? There's more to life than scientific evidence. There's eyewitness testimony, there's having an alibi (in the case of being accused of murder), there's ALL KINDS of evidence in the world...and not everything can be proven scientifically.

And no, I WOULDN'T necessarily take someone else's word for everything. However, I WILL take my OWN word, and know that what I've experienced is very real.

The evidence is there. We allow God to work in our lives and He will. I used to be an alcoholic with no hope of ever being sobre. I started attending a United Pentecostal Church, was saved the Bible way, and you know what? One night I went to bed drunk. I woke up the next morning with no hangover, no cravings, no withdrawals, and I havent had a drop of alcohol since. And tomorrow it will be seven years. All we need is the faith to believe that He is who He said He is and He will provide the evidence we seek afterwards.

There is nothing real about a spurious accusation of murder when the facts don't support it. Saying it is so, does not make it so. There has to be evidence, like a wife disappearing mysteriously, or something like that. An accusation by itself is meaningless, and wouldn't be taken seriously by anyone. Unfortunately on more serious charges, like sex crimes, a mean spirited person can accuse an innocent person, and just the accusation is enough to ruin him. Forever, people will have doubts about that innocent man or woman.

As for science, science is the observation of events in nature that occur repetitively in order to predict future occurrences. Science observes what happens. Nothing but the facts. Valued judgments are not science. If there is a picture hanging on the wall, one person says, Look a picture (scientific observation), but another says, What an ugly picture (valued judgment). The latter statement is not scientific. Yet we allow scientists to make valued judgments all the time and allow them to pass them off as science. Here is one crucial fact about science that limits science and takes it from it's pretended throne as supreme judge: Science can only observe events in the physical world. It cannot observe spiritual realities because observation is done by using one or more of the five senses. The five senses can only touch, see, taste, smell, hear real physical things. That's it. Yet anyone can observe there is more to themselves than just the physical body. There is the inward part of us where our conscience, will, emotions and personality are, and where there are parts more deeper. You can't smell it. You can't touch it. You can't hear it. You can't taste it. You can't see it.
So we accept there is an inner part of us, we will call the spiritual part, that science cannot measure. In that spiritual part certain things have been hardwired into us: 1) A code of right and wrong, and 2) an elemental knowledge of God. Easy to prove too. I have never met anyone who proclaims there is no right and wrong, who doesn't quickly revert back to right and wrong when someone does something nasty to him. We all believe in right and wrong when someone wrongs us. So the code of right and wrong is there. It is just when we want to do things that we throw the code out and say there is no right and wrong. We want a license to do whatever brings pleasure, but we want the code of right and wrong to protect us from evil people. A little child says, That's not fair. Unwittingly she is appealing to this code of right and wrong that is hardwired into us. She expects you to know that code too, and right the wrong. As for God, everyone knows there is no atheist in a fox hole. Normally in day to day activities where life is taken for granted, we have no knowledge that deep down we know there is a God. Sometimes it takes a life threatening event to bring us to that place where we see clearly that we know, and we call out to God to save us. It comes from deeper than our minds. It comes from the depth of us.

Not everyone waits for that death scaring moment. Some want to know, Why am I here? What is my purpose? -- and the quest begins. The Keith Green story is a good example of such a quest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMErs73sRhc&mode=related&search=

Apostel are those who walked along with Christe. They were the first students of Christe.

John was one of Apostel who was against blind beliefs. He did not believe the stories on resurrction of Christe untill he met Him and touched his wounds.

So at that time itself blind belief were not accepted. We also have to learn from him believing alone cant help.

Christe way to Divinity was way of Love. Love is God.

If we are men enough we must try to go in the path of love and try to forgive self and all others and move on. It is very difficult to love and forgive all specially all those sadists and those who dared to do anything for self gratification and those who cause misery by obstructing and even killing or injuring those who are loved ones.

At times it is difficult to forgive ourselves and love ourselves, feeling of Guilt and let go.

Beyond that if we work in that road then we may reach divinity experienced by John.

Just like John we also need to experience Christe. Then try to attain objective of the path of love and that is finding the Kingdom of Heaven in self.

Proof is only by experiencing God. Like we dont understand the meaning of Love even after reading hours about it unless we fall in love. So is God experience is only the proof. Rest can be effectively disproved.

What you are talking about is God vs. man.

Where humans are involved, yes I would insist on proof. The Bible says to put your faith and trust in God, not in man or the works of mankind.

Where God is involved, I trust in Him completely, and totally.

I realize that science is the "holy grail" of the modern age, but it has it's limitations. Questions like "What is the meaning of life?" and "Why are we here?" really cannot be answered by science. Things involving the human heart and soul are beyond the scope of science.

Greetings,
God created man in His image and likeness (perfect and complete). Man shattered this image by disobeying God's command. God loved His creation so much He gave him everything and also command and authority over all, He also gave man free will to choose. But, man surrendered to a lie from Satan and wanted to be independent of God judging good and evil. Satan (Lucifer) fell from heaven because he willed to dominate God. Thus, man acquired bondage through violation of God's command and this bondage was passed on to all mankind as an inheritance and mankind still continues to acquire more.

When we will to be independent of God and dominate our fellow beings for our vested interests, we knowingly or unknowingly fall victim to Satan's lie resulting in bondage. When you choose to believe a lie, you will live a lie.
Do not be stubborn, ask God to help you know him.
Read the Bible everyday.

The evidence is that we exist. Science has no explaination for that, as it has no theories on how the Big Bang came about, only what happened after the event began.

Therefore religion is actually the only viable theory for us to look at. Christianity may not be the right one, but atleast it's a theory.

edit: The observable phenomenon is what I said above - we exist. Science can't explain it. Creationism is a theory, and the only one that tries to explain our existence.
