Does anyone know a good hotel in the New York area, near public transport and indoor pool?

(and not too expensive - its somewhere to stay over the christmas season. Also the same question applies for Washington DC)

In Times Square the Marriot Marquis or the Sheraton, both have heated indoor pools plus work out gyms.
