Photography suggestions?

Question

Anyone have any suggestions on some good things to photograph? whether it be landscapes, or objects found around the house, or something else, let me know!

As a previous expert mentioned, photograph things you love. But if you want to make your images stand out, study lighting and it's effects on your subject.

Study the old master painters and see how light effected what they painted. Look at people and the props used as well, tables, bowls, fruit, furniture, anything. Use their techniques for lighting when you photograph.

In addition, you might want to learn some computer programs to manipulate your image. Adobe Photo Shop is the industry standard. So much can be done with a computer to make your image stand out.

Last but not least, practise, practise, practise.

Every where you look you can see a photograph. The key is learning to see instead of looking.

Photograph things you find lying in the street - an old shoe, a broken CD, a smashed aluminum can, a manhole cover.

Photograph an older person's hands (with permission) especially if they are wrinkled or show age. Photograph them holding hands with a child.

Photograph someone looking directly into the camera.

Photograph your own shadow.

Photograph a metal-sided building with vertical elements in strong side lighting.

Use your imagination now - mine is tired. :)

Let your creativity and imagination take over, try to see the possibilities of a interesting picture in all things. I've recently begun trying my hand at photography and have taken some really good pics of many different things. Everything from Birds and plants to old bird houses, old churches, old architecture, knots on trees and even close ups of blueberries growing wild around my home. Scenery pictures are always nice as well as are boats and animals. It really falls to what interests you and from there, be creative with it when you take your pictures. Good Luck!

start photographing what you like/love ie. dogs? beaches? trees/sunset. specialize in what you love to look at .
