Your neighbours could apply for a Noise Abatement Notice under the Environmental Pollution Act, or if you are a Council tenant you could be in breach of your Tenancy Agreement as you are responsible for your visitors. I am a motorbike fan having two vintage bikes. Maybe the exhaust needs attention.

they are annoying you don't want this to get out of hand
if your friend is reeving his bike as away of knocking your door tell him to slow down when coming to your house that should cut down noise and when leaving if its after 10 its not worth falling out with your neighbours the council cant enforce anything but for the peace in your community try and find some common ground good luck or you will become the neighbours from hell

As mentioned earlier, if the bike is being run to and from the address without any excessive revving of the engine, that's fine. If s/he is revving the living hell out of it then worse case scenario s/he could have an ASBO against them. Thing to remember is that its not just the offender that has the ASBO, it includes any bike the offender is on at the time of the offence whether its his/hers or not. It lasts for a year.

Unless your friend is deliberately revving the engine to annoy your neighbours there's not a lot the Council can do. But it might help if he doesn't turn up too early in the morning or too late at night, and if he has to then maybe he could push his bike once he gets close to your home?

I would get him to go to the council or police and let them hear his bike, and ask whether it was legal and of reasonable volume. If he is told it is ok - then the next time your not so friendly neighbours say anything you can tell them what has happened, and inside you can fell *p yours matey!
It always pays to be pro active and take the action in this type of case into your own hands - it nips things in the bud before they get out of hand and any bad feeling arises.

write a letter to your neighbours and let them know that there is nothing you can do and that it is within the law. or ask him to turn the bike off and walk it up your road at night, also walk it to the end of the road before starting it at night.

In scotland, tenants are responsible for the behaviour of their guests while those guests are in the house. You could be reported to your landlord if any complaints are raised about your friends motorbike.

I think the best they could hope for is that they make the guy fix his bike. There is obviously something wrong with it, either that or its modified. I dont think you yourself have anything to worry about, you cant help who visits you can you?

They cant report you for the noise from your friends motorcycle only the rider and then it would have to be shown to be defective or not to legal standards or they are unnecessarily revving it.

if he only arrives on it then leaves without revving it up there's nothing much anyone can do, if he's arriving and sitting on the bike and revving it he is disturbing the peace and you will be giving a warning
