Hi, this is my fourth day of fasting, I wake up at 4am, drink some water (cannot stomach the food that early in the morning) and then eat again at 7.30pm. My calorie consumption in this one meal sitting in approx 1000 and I finish eating by 8pm and don't eat again, going to sleep at 12. Normally, if I ate this little, I can tell the next day from my stomach that I have lost weight but this time there is no difference. I am aware my body must have gone into 'starvation mode' but I cannot increase my cals for fear of being sick. Is there anything I can do to aid the weight loss? Can't go to the gym to do cardio because I can't drink water due to the fast. Will walking for aout 40 mins after eating aid the weight loss or would I have to do cardio and really sweat it out?

So what I want to know is:
Is there anything I can do to aid the weight loss?
Will walking for aout 40 mins after eating aid the weight loss or would I have to do cardio and really sweat it out?
Am I being silly just basing this on 4 days and maybe I'll be able to tell after a couple of weeks as the fasting continues for 30 days?
Sensible answers please = thank you

P.S. Xxx_Blonde_Baybee_xxX - You yourself know that you're a 40 year old obese man - don't try to be something you're not my love.
I understand it's a spiritual journey and not meant for weight loss but I would have thought it comes part and parcel with the joy of Ramadan

If you want to lose weight go on a diet. Ramadan is not a diet it is a spiritual fast and you are not in the right state of mind.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "For the person who is fasting, there are two moments of happiness and rejoicing: when breaking the fast, and when meeting his/her Lord."
Nothing in there about losing weight! Stop it already!

As Uhuru said, the Ramadan fast is not about losing weight. If you are not right spiritually in the fast then you might as well ignore it as a kafir. Instead, take the time to pray to Allah. If you want to exercise then do it, but understand what the fast is about. After dark, the meal is about enjoying time with family and friends. Try to pay attention to what is important about this time.
Have a peaceful Ramadan.
And if you want to lose weight, watch yourself during the feast in October.

my freind, fasting by itself will not make you lose weight even after a milion of years you should do the following:
1) lower your Calories that you eat.
I know it is hard especially in Ramadan, but it worth it.
2) exercise at least 30 minutes a day for at least 4 times a week,
You can do it while waching TV, So you wont feel the time
3) motivation, you have to be a good looking for Ead.
Take Care, and have a nice Ramadan.
Your Friend, Roya

I think you are not loosing weight because you eat late at night before going to sleep. You might rather gain weight then loose it during Ramadan because of this.

u know that by starving yourself thru the day.... all them hours, when you do eat, your body holds onto the fat from the foods as you will starv yourself again for another so many hours. It doesn't look like your doing this for the right reasons, therefor if your heart is just set on losing weight then you shouldnt be doing ramadam but eating a healthy low fat balanced diet.

People who regularly weigh themselves and keep an eye on their progress in a journal will probably lose weight.

Distracted dining are certain to get you in trouble. Avoid eating when in front of a television or in a cinema, as you're bound to use up more calories.
