...would you share it with the world? Even if you knew it would destroy the lives and hopes of so many people around the world? What would you do with this knowledge? Would you take the high road and keep it to yourself and maybe educate those who came looking for the truth, or would you just stick it to the believers and tell them anyway? Just wondering....

Before I get a ton of people answering with how you can never have proof of god's existence or non-existence, that's not the question!! It's a hypothetical question!!! I know that you can't disprove god and I'm not trying to. I'm just wondering what people would do in this HYPOTHETICAL situation. Thank you!

Joseph: that's one of the problems I have with the faithful....even in the face of undeniable proof of something, they just can't accept it. Why not if the proof is undeniable?

I have to agree with Thor. I would share the proof, not because I want to change what people believe. Belief doesn't need proofs, and most people will go on thinking the way that they did before.

If you have followed the recent political crisis caused in India because of release of proof stating that the "bridge" between India and Sri Lanka is a natural formation and not a man-made artifact, you'll know what to expect if the kind of proof you are talking about is released.

Release it anyway, people who aren't so deeply set in their beliefs will take notice. Maybe some people will start believing in themselves more and not blame their ineptitudes and failures on an entity that can no longer exist.

It will break some people, but it will make some others stronger and better people. But for the most part, it will change nothing.

I would just make up a proff that would say that " god is just one person with different names". I would never want to destroy anyone's hopes cuz for some people god is hope.

Like imagine being in the hospital where ur son is dying and to u the doctor said that he doesn't have any chance to survive! and imagine knwoing that the doctor's words are the last words- the ultimate decision. How will it feel if u knew that there is no other hope left? it would jsut scatter the person's life.

and i would make up that proof so that people don't fight in the name of the religion.

If I had the proof, I would give it to the world. I believe in sharing knowledge, not hiding it because it may cause some people to rethink their outlook on life. Chances are those that do not want to accept the evidence will deny it. Just look at the US, about 50% of our population believes the Earth is only 6000 years old.

There can be no such proof. You can't prove a negative.

You cannot disprove I have invisible leprechauns in my backyard.

If however such evidence did exist I would share it with the world. The truth is more important than blissful ignorance.

No: I wouldn't "spread the word", telling all the Christians,
Catholics, Baptists, etc. that I could find. I have always felt
that anyone is completely entitled to believe whatever they
choose. If it gives someone peace-of-mind to believe in a
Supreme Being, so be it. It's not my place to tell them they
are wrong.

Yes i would.

I couple of months ago i was at my parents.
They had a dvd about birds and where enjoying it. It was miraculous, the camera was flying with the birds it seemed. They like it alot.

I told them that the movie of the birds they liked so much was computer generated.
( they were both 75+ and unaware of modern technology )

They still liked the movie very very much.

I am all about destroying hope, as it leads people to wait for an outcome instead of acting to make the outcome acheived.
