And where exactly did you read and hear that?
If you're going to ask a question like this, you should be prepared to back it up with some evidence instead of citing nothing as your source.

There is some debate over whether or not Darwin recanted his theory on his deathbed. But if you think about it, that is completely irrelevent. Does the theory of evolution make sense? Is it scientific? Has it been tested? These are questions you can ask yourself and see what answers you find. If you're curious about evolution you can research it.

Darwin believed in his theory, and was certain that, over time, the fossil record would show the massive transitional lifeforms required by it.

The eye. He did not find any precursors that could have acted as intermediate steps between 'vision' and 'no vision.'
Subsequent research, of course, has filled in the blanks.

i think i've read that he wasn't completely sure in his theory. he knew someone might be able to prove it wrong, so he didn't want to make a fool of himself and claim it to be 100% true, only for it to be disproven a century after his death (i'm not saying it has been or that it will be, i'm just saying that's probably what he was thinking).
but i've also heard how do you expect somebody to believe in you when you don't believe in yourself? so who knows...

Where did you hear this? There was a woman who lied and said that she was with him when he died. She told people that he accepted Jesus on his death bed. His daughter later made a statement saying that it was a lie that the woman was with them because his daughter was actually there and knew that the other woman was not.

He admitted that the transitional links vitally necessary to prove evolution had never been discovered. And then he admitted that they likely never would be.
So much for evolution
