if I say that I am pagan, even if I don't say anything much else. Does freedom of religion not apply on yahoo answers?

The Thumbs Down Fairy must have a crush on you.

Well, if you "don't say anything much else," I can understand why people would be giving you a thumbs down. A thumbs down can simply mean "not a helpful answer."

BTW, freedom of religion has nothing to do with it. You have the right to be pagan. Other people have the right to disagree with you, if that is even what is going on. Freedom of religion does not mean everyone is required to think you are right. You simply have to be allowed to practice freely.

Yeah I've noticed that. Someone seems to be giving me a thumbs down almost with in 5 minutes of me posting a message - I'd go back to edit a minor thing & I've frequently got a thumbs down before the update's been posted.

It's there regardless of what the content is - serious, open minded, funny or what. AND I've a few friends (Atheist & Pagan) here who've noticed the same thing. It just seems the thumbs down is because of us not what we say - & yes that's discrimination

I 1/2 jokingly call this person my stalker. But I've gotta admit it's a bit creepy. OTOH I refuse to let any bigot win. We've as much right to be here as any Fundy Wackjob.

I just looked through your answers, and honestly it seems like a fairly average amount of thumbs down for just about anyone. Your comparative lack of thumbs ups to thumbs downs on some question would seem to be partially because on some answers you seem to provide too little content for people to take a position on, other than those dogmatically thumbing down, if you look at the questions where you got them though, you'll notice that a bunch of other people did too.

I added you with the intent of looking through these then removing you, but I decided I'd rather not actually remove you after glancing through our answers, I hope you don't mind.

Well Tom, i try not to give anyone a thumbs down, unless it as an absolutely ridiculous answer !, We should all be allowed freedom of speech unfortunately not all would agree with this, i have noticed that if a person has taken a dislike to your answers they automatically give you a thumbs down whether you have written a good ans or not.

Thumbs up !!! lol

Ive got the same problem, but for being a Christian. All my post has to say is Im a Christian and I get thumb downed...watch ;) Seriously though, its irritating, and sometimes I think my answers might be a bit too open for some of my own people even, but mostly I think some have an axe to grind with my belief system, at least on here anyways.

they can put in their guidelines that it matters, but nobody reads the guidelines.
and most of the people on here probably have a religion, and if they disagree with what you say, then they'll give it a thumbs down.
that's how the world is.
but hey--it's not like a thumbs down takes any points off of your score. and on an even bigger note, yahoo answers literally means nothing in your life. so don't take it too seriously.

I have noticed that as soon as I answer a question on no matter what topic, sometimes I get a thumbs down.

It doesn't worry me.

1) it's just a game anyway.

2) thumbs down affect nothing.

3) it gives the mischievous something to keep them busy...

I usually try to give you a thumbs up when I can. Pagans seem to be a minority here with all the atheists and Christians and Muslims fighting all the time.

if you answer questions and only say i am a pagan , i can hardly believe that that answers a question and can imagine that you will get a thumb down for it.

for answers that are longer , you need to ask yourself if it is because of the answer you gave or because of you being a pagan.

since i dont see your answers i can not say.

anyway dont bother to much for thumbs down it doesnt hurt and there are a lot of different people reading your answers so it is understandable answers good and bad get thunbs down.

How do you recognize it quite is the atheists who thumb them down? I thumbs-down suggestions on an analogous time as they're unhelpful or contain pretend guidance, inspite of the assumption. working occasion, if there is an answer on the subject remember of a faith that contradicts my own ideals yet has precise guidance approximately it (alongside with Judaism, somebody ought to declare that God counseled them to no longer eat pig meat) i ought to bypass away it on my own. If there is pretend guidance, no count type if the religion is one I share or one I stay far flung from (alongside with somebody ought to declare that Episcopalians rip out pages of the bible ) then i circulate to take objection to that. probable you observe extra advantageous Christian suggestions thumbed-down because of the reality there are quite a few Christians, like myself, who're no longer petrified of helping fellow Christians who're sharing incorrect innovations.
