I know this may sound stupid, but i thought self harm only applied to people who cut themselves, but i recently discovered there are many types of self harm.
I don't know if i have problem, but i have a thing with pills. Everday ingest a ridiculous amount of pills, sometimes i take them for the sake of it.
I have big thing with Tylenol PM, used to take 3 every night but that now has increased to 5/6 a night. I go through 225 capulets like it's water, i usually go through a box in a month. I don't know why but sometimes i will drink a small bottle spirit/brandy and take the pill with it.
I know its damaging my liver and but a big part of me doesn't care, sometimes the possiblity of dying isn't so bad.
I was kinda depressed a few months ago and started taking fluoxentine, but i started to get a bit lazy and stopped taking them.
Do you think i Have got a problem????

Sometimes i think i have a problem and other times i don't. Like there must be other people like me who do the same thing. I don't want to get help incase they think i'm attention seeking or faking it.

Most people who even question that they have a problem have a problem. Especially when it comes to depression. Not only is this a form of self harm but a form of addiction. You've become dependent on the feelings and it will only get worse. Addiction is a chemical change in your brain and without professional help it cannot be beaten, no matter what anyone tells you. No respected psychiatrist will turn you down or make you feel belittled. You do have a problem. Seek help, please, especially if you care about yourself at all.

a lot of times we think that we don't care until that thing we think we don't care about actually happens to us. I would google liver transplants, living with liver disease, and learn what life is like when your liver is shot because you really are headed down that road. Sometimes it is gradual and then sometimes it can be sudden and instantaneous and you do NOT get the 5 year warning that "maybe, probably, you might consider not harming yourself in this way..."
I really think part of the reason you are dong this is because you have no real idea what you are going to go through if you continue. Why not post this question in a chat room with people who have livers that are shot and dealing with the problem? Give them a chance to reach out to you....
Tylenol with alcohol is so dangerous.
If the fluoxetine wasn't working or you didn't give it a chance, try something else.
If you think dying may not be so bad, you definitely
stand to benefit from anti depressants.
If you think dying may not be so bad, you may really hate living with a liver that is shot...
Talk with your doctor. Have your liver enzymes tested.

I would like you to look at this picture of a person with
cirrhosis of the liver that developed ascites (fluid in the
abdominal area)...this is what you are heading for.

It is important, if you care enough about yourself, that you
see a doctor right away. Overdosing on tylenol alone
can cause damage to the liver to the point a liver
transplant will be needed. Overdosing on tylenol with
alcohol is like a death sentence.
You may feel fine right now. Why? cause the liver isn't
a complaining organ until its functions deteriate so much
that it isn't able to perform what it does to help the body
stay healthy. People are walking around with liver
damage and don't even know it.
You need to get in touch with your doctor and asked to
be referred to a hepatologist. He will do blood tests
to see if your liver is damaged or you have inflammation.
The inflammation of the liver can be treated and the liver
may heal if you stop doing what you are doing. If it
is not treated and the liver cells start to die, there is
no turning back them and you will need a liver transplant
eventually. A liver transplant costs $250,000 to
$750,000 and you may not get the transplant if an
organ becomes available.
You definitely need help and the only ones able to
do this for you are the doctor themselves. You have
more than just one problem here...you are talking
about saying good bye to your life.

You don't want to get help in case they think you're faking it? Your pride is going to kill you. Or, worse, you may just get very ill and not be able to recover, but also not die from it. Go to a nursing home and ask to see people who tried killing themselves and didn't quite make it. You'll find people who are paralyzed, brain damaged, and/or drooling. Is that a good result? It sounds like you are still depressed and need to go back to your prescription. I don't think it's laziness, I think you have too much pride to admit how sick you have become. Get some help!

i do something similar to you. usually when i feel upset i take about 15-17 Panadol pills. i don't do this often, but when i do, i do it to stop me thinking and partly because i think i deserve the pain. i don't care that much about my liver either.
maybe you're doing the same. self-harm [for me, anyway] is to help numb my feelings and to make me feel like i've got a excuse for being such a failure.
i hope you find someone to talk to. i'm trying to get over my SI and am trying to find someone. get some counseling, as SI is a problem, but counsellings' not everyone's cup of tea.
*hug* best wishes

This certainly qualifies as self harm and you should talk to a doctor as soon as possible.
You may also want to consider seeing a mental health professional who may be able to help you work it.
Don't wait!

See a doctor immediately: you may well be doing severe damage to your kidneys. View depression treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2.

Yes, you do. And you're slowly killing yourself. Get some help before it's too late when you realize you really do want to live.
