Interesting to hear you say " are we in a dream or not " . It made me remember seeing an old talk-show host , Johnny Carson , on The Tonight Show .
He said , " Wouldn' t it be something if we all woke up one day and found that we' re just like one grain of sand on a huge beach ? "
When it comes to God , either you believe or you don' t . Somebody else , tonight , talked about free will . But , we all come to a crossroad and are forced to make a decision .... turn left , turn right or go back .
When you' re dealing with God , there' s no 3rd decision .... it' s only Heaven or Hell .

you would be happy to appreciate it became my lack of ability to take care of those ideals that led me to the top that any such being because of the fact the mono-deity defined by ability of the Bible, or any mono-deity, can no longer exist :-) Edit: Oh, Gawd. If God inspired the e book, it can be a.) completely sparkling if our little immortal souls have been at stake and God shall we unfastened a sneaky tempter to trick God's 'liked' introduction into an eternity of suffering (how loving of Him). b.)the author's could additionally be one hundred% precise. (no metaphorical right here, literal there excuses) I see a lot of you confuse the observe 'gentle' with the sunlight. 'gentle' became the 1st day, the sunlight became on the fourth. 'Gravity' is 'merely an theory'. If the earth 'hangs' in air, what's it stunning from? I see how the verses could be interpreted quite evidently because of the fact the earth being a flat 'circle' yet i may additionally see how a individual cherry-selections their way into believing that's twisted good judgment explaining the earth is a sphere. nonetheless, i've got no longer considered/study something on right here it is replaced my suggestions or made me think of, 'Gee, according to danger I ought to truly twist meanings and understandings around if it conflicts with my consumer-friendly experience'.

It's not that simple either. After meeting our basic needs and reaching our comfort zones, most humans feel a kind of spiritual vacuum in them.Down the ages ,religions have recognized this and tried to fill up that space with varying degrees of successes, failures and conflicts.Concept of a DIVINITY,as a supernatural entity(like a God or a prophet or whatever) appealed to humans and still does. The core point is not really it's existence (in physical terms) but it's acceptability as a source to fill that vacuum or empty space and meet that human need. This process shall continue till we find an acceptable replacement, which isn't in sight for many many years to come.Be sure, there shall be believers and nonbelievers always and so shall be people like you who would keep arguing about logic and rationality and believers who would refuse to accept that argument.

No, you can't. Nor can anybody disprove the multiple gods of many Pagans, though most Pagans don't see deity in the same way as Christians.
The point is though, that religion should confine itself to matters of religion and to leave matters of science to the scientists and engineers. Religious beliefs shouldn't impinge on the teaching of science.
The animosity comes about when the religious try to present their faith as fact. They try to codify their religious proscriptions into civil legislation. They state that their morals come from God and should therefore be universal. This legislation of religious dogma is part of the cause of the fight. The Atheist's valid claim is that if one cannot prove the existence of this god, then why should he be compelled to acknowledge him or to follow his commands?
When the Christians stop trying to make everyone behave as if their god is the real and only god, then perhaps the arguments would subside.

Well, I'm not dreaming.
The existence of God can be demonstrated via a logical argument. Actually several logical arguments.
The non-existence of God cannot be proven. It is not possible to prove that a thing does not exist.
The reason why people try to "prove stuff about God" is because people like you post questions that misrepresent truth and reality.

I believe that this isn't a dream because I want to. and I can prove god not to exist by his book being so damn wrong about everything. that is assuming that this isn't a dream (which I already have). plus, if this were a dream then typing about it would be a dream as well so in the end you're just continuing on your dream which is all you can do.

Well, thought is just a consideration.
But, who does the thinking? Not my dreams. Nope. Just me, myself and I.
The concept of God on the other hand has provided hope for millions as they look to find answers in a life that sometimes seems so incomplete.

Yeah, this is all a trippy dream like the matrix movie.I think I have free-will to make my own choices but what if these choices were all pre-determined and I'm answering this question, thinking that I chose to, but it was already pre-chosen for me.Bummer:(
...and because people have the need to find reasonings for everything when there isn't necessarily any.the unknown is scary.

We dont have the capacity to prove of a god. Religions are based on faith which is not enough for some, me included.

people try to prove it because it is driving us crazy. we want the truth. but nobody can provide it. and most likely nobody ever will.
people are searching for more. but unless it's through some false sense of hope (like a happy eternal afterlife), they'll never achieve it.
