Spiritual only. The social aspects are meaningless to me.

LOL Personally, I don't "do" "religion"... and since I do not belong to any church, there isn't anything "social" about having a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit either. ... also, "spiritual" covers a wide range of Beliefs, so that doesn't "fit" either. :)

You may as well ask why each person chooses the mate they have.... We do not "see" the person they thave chosen with the same eyes, heart, or understanding that they do.

Very good question. I think many of us "do" religion for social aspects. It's in our nature, we are social creatures. But, does it really matter?
I can only speak for myself, but I enjoy my solitude in church. I don't socialize but rather take that opportunity to isolate myself from my cell phone and friends so that I can pray. It might sound trite, but it is the 1 hour I have that everyone respects as my time with God. My job, my fiance, my friends and family included.
But, for those who enjoy the fellowship of others of the same faith, good for them. Whatever works, right?

It can be done in a sort of combination but most people don't ..Religions actually inhibit spiritual development due to rituals and dogmas .

Does a love relationship with God have a social aspect?

Matthew Chaper 22:36-39
36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
