I will be traveling to Israel next week for the holidays =P

And I want to rent a car to travel up north.

Can anyone suggest a good local rental agency? Oh and like most Americans I cannot drive stick to save my life so it will need to be an automatic.

I have rented many cars in Israel, and I have found that Hagar (hagar-rent.co.il) has the best prices. Also, their offices are located conveniently in Jerusalem, Bnei Barak (Tel Aviv area), and Haifa.

Good luck and Hag Sameach!

hehe... stick.. remind me what that is... I never rented a car in Israel- and I can only state the leading companies but almost every town has a couple of local rental agencies you are right (I know my city is only 30,000 people and there are a couple of private local agencies)
so search the yellow pages

for a local company where is closest to your stay and you are right the local companies are cheaper but I don't know if a small agency is better the a big corporated one.

anyways the big ones are and there are more I just don't remember them, try sending them mails and getting price offers.
