I think hell is slowly being raised to earth. Look ten years back and then look at today.

Oh there's a hell all right, but it is not on this earth. It is an actual place and the Bible talks about it. The thing about hell though, is that it is not all that people think it is. Yes, it is eternal suffering, but it is also eternal separation from God. While it may seem that we can have hell on earth, God is still present in our lives and He still controls our breath and our very existence. He controls the weather and He steps in and acts in our lives when we may be unaware. For those destined to the hell of the Bible, God is nowhere to be found. It will be an eternity without God and no amount of praying, repenting, trying to do the right thing will bring someone to God or get Him to step in and take action. There will be fear and suffering, agony and pain. There will be emptiness, loneliness and a hunger and thirst that can never be quenched spiritually or emotionally. That is true hell.

The Bible describes Hell as fire & brimstone and no letting up of pain . Doesn' t sound very pleasant to me .
I heard a preacher on the radio give this scenario .
:- Have you ever seen a million dollars ? Very few people have seen a million $. But you know it' s a fact that it exists .
So , have you ever seen Heaven ?
You can ask the same question about Hell .
And , anybody that has a belief in Heaven , has a belief in Hell .

I think that the idea of bad people being punished in some fiery afterlife sounds satisfying.
But wanting vengeance on people who have done wrong doesn't mean that there is such a thing.
I find it hard to believe that a benevolent and all powerful creator needs something like hell as a place of punishment or just as a deterrent factor.

For some reason even when I was Christian, heaven and hell never felt real to me. I always have felt that what ever happen to me when I die is not as important as what I do when I am alive.
Now that I practice Wicca I still feel connected to the same God I dedicated myself to so many years ago, I just worship him in a different way now.
My dedication to God is not out of FEAR of what will happen to my soul when I die but out of LOVE and Gratitude for the life I am living in the here and now! Just because this is the path I have chosen for myself does not mean that other people are wrong! It simply means they walk another path!

I believe there is a hell. For every good thing there is a bad and bad things find it easier to exist and the good. As one poster already said hell is being raised on earth. i think it could be true. I think earth is a version or level of hell and that we must redeem ourselves on this earth to prove we dont belong with the others.

People who say this are trying to dismiss the reality of hell. you might like to think that life as we know it couldn’t get any worse, but the sufferings in this life will be heaven compared to the suffering in the next life—for those who die in their sins. This life is the closest thing to hell that Christians will ever know, and the closest thing to heaven that sinners will ever know. For a biblical description of hell, see Revelation 1:18. Hell will indeed be very real--eternally real! Since Christ is both our Creator and our Savior, who died for our sins and defeated death by His resurrection, it is foolish for anyone to reject His revelation about hell.

I think you are pretty much right. There are good parts of Earth and bad parts. Though, surely Earth could be worse. Thus, potentially there is a place worse that would serve as Hell.

in a christians words hell is when you lose ALL hope..what we usually tend to think of hell in earth are unnecessary acts caused by men.like terrorists acts those are just acts done by men with a different mindset and priorities..but it all falls into an a religious war again..another opinion is that the concept of hell was made to create fear.thus when fear is created inferiority arises making u vulnerable to any hipocracy given by any religion..but my main concern is that people usually plan for eternal bliss.but what if it was just a mere superstition??it would be sad for all those believing in eternal happiness.(these are just my opinions, i hope nobody's chrisitan feelings are hurt when i post this)
.then again they would feel pity on me cause im gonna burn in hell, that would come out from an arrogant chrisitans mouth

I'm certainly no one to tell you how to think. But, I do believe in hell. Honestly, I believe that we will face the consequences of our choices. Maybe we do suffer our hell on earth, but I really couldn't say. So, to be safe, I try to live my life as best as I can. Try, being the key word here.
Anyway, I hope you're right. Because if you are, then I should receive my angel wings immediately!

depends on the definition used. you use some different definition than most christians do. so the question should not be do you think hell exist, but what is your definition of hell, ( or you should specify what hell you mean in the first question ). i dont hink you will come to an usefull answer if you dont ask clearly what you want to know.
