Without compromising their religious views, how do you wish Christians would handle this issue? You can't just say, "Accept Evolution, endorse abortion and homosexuality, become Democrats and move away". Be realistic. How can they still be Christians, and keep their principles, but compromise on these issues? Would you be willing to compromise on the issue, or are you absolutely not waivering? If you are not willing to compromise, why should Christians?

Remember, compromise is supposed to be small, not an entire conversion.

looks like people didn't read your whole question. I like the point you are making. The non-Christians are against us legislating our views because they go against their views that they are trying to legislate. It's so moronic if you step back and look at it.

We each have our beliefs and it is our right and duty to make our voice heard and let the "representative" gvt vote accordingly. I know it doesn't really work out that way, but that is the idea. I have a right to push for what I believe just as much as you do. Human nature seems to be "my way or the highway" Maturity realizes that both sides have a right to their opinion.

Abortion - I'm in the middle, There are better ways to try to stop or at least limit them and it will not be through legislation.
Creationism vs Evolution in schools - Hell yes
Gay marriage - Baffles me how they love to push their views on others lifestyles.
Global Warming - has to do with how they believe everything republicans and fox news say, and they are both run by big business.
Iraq - They still think it has something to do with 9-11. Same as above.
Ties to the Republican party - I think I covered that
Prayer in Schools - I don't care about prayer as long as it is individual and does not cut into other activities.
Separation of Church and State - http://www.sptimes.com/2006/08/13/Columns/Non_Christians_need_n.shtml

Prayer in schools, Iraq, and separation of church and state. I'm anti-abortion as they are, but do not relate it to religion.

how to handle it? Well, not allow prayer in schools, unless the child does so by themselves and quietly. Thats a compromise, I suppose, don't make my child do it, but if someone else want to go ahead.
I'm not good with politics, and don't know 100% of what is happening with Iraq. I wouldn't know what to do there. Just bring Auntie V HOME!

I'm neither Republican nor Democrat. I was actually registered as a Republican, but then . I can't vote now.

I will number these.
1) Abortion maybe against their beliefs, but not mine. It is a decision for Politicians and their beliefs should be left at the chamber door.
2) If need be teach both, but no one in their right mind can seriously think that excluding science from schools is a good thing.
3) Same as abortion.
4) Well thats a fools errand in any language.
5).......not my country.
6) Fine if you want your child to pray in school, send them to a religious school, the same can be said about question 2.
7)They should never be joined in the slightest. Religion has no right to have a say in our political landscape.

Global warming requires a tougher stance on industry.

If a politician can't do his/her job without involving his/her religious beliefs, then I think he or she should seriously consider a change of employment.
Decisions of state need to be made in an unbiased manner, if you cannot be unbiased then the chance of a wrong decision are greatly increased.

There has always been and always will be some race, religion or cultural group that thinks that they have all the answers. The problem with this is when these groups decide that the rest of us needs to believe what they believe without asking rest of us if we want to believe in their unique vision. I would tell all Christan's and any other groups who think that they have the answer to my problems is stay in your convoluted universe and I will stay in mine. I really don't care what you believe. However if you decided that you want to try to push your absurd views on the rest of us, then expect to face the consequences of your actions.

my biggest concerns are gay marriage and abortion rights....because those things affect how people can live their lives!
"render unto caesar what is caesar's..."
that means stay out of the government's business.
no church has to endorse gay marriage. what is wrong with a civil union?? religion doesn't have to recognize gay marriage as legitimate to god, but they can treat it like a contract and let the gov. handle it!
abortion...yeah, I wish they would leave this alone, but I don't think there can be any compromise with most people. a good first step would be allowing emergency contraceptives to be accepted...

I do not dislike Xians. I dislike those identifying as Xian who feel they have the "God Given Right" to harass, abuse & otherwise attack anyone they disagree with.

There is a difference between the overall faith & the Fundy elements withint it who don't give a darn that they wreck things for everyone else.

I would say
Creationism vs Evolution in schools
Gay marriage
Prayer in Schools

would be the big three for me.

As for how to compromise, I would tell them to adopt a policy of "each to his own."

If you feel Homosexuality is wrong and that children should pray in school that is your prerogative, but dont legislate your views on others.

those that want to pray let them pray, those who want to marry people of the same sex let them as long as it dose not affect you, as for evolution, it is science, if you disagree send your kids to a private school or teach them what you want when they come home.

Freedom of religion dose not mean you have the freedom to use government bodies to preach your theology.

What bothers me the most about Christians is forcing their own agendas on others, but call others terrorists if they try to force their own agendas on Christians.

What bothers me, also, about Christians is that you always hear different answers to the same question. The husband and the wife answer differently!!

I would say creationism taught in public schools. If you want your child to be taught creationism, then bring them to church. People have their own ways of sorting out what they want to believe when they get older anyway. Keep religion out of government, otherwise we become a theocracy like the taliban.
