The liver is the largest glandular organ of the body. It weighs about 3 lb (1.36 kg). It is reddish brown in color and is divided into four lobes of unequal size and shape. The liver lies on the right side of the abdominal cavity beneath the diaphragm. So it's more to the side and the front to allow for easy palpation during physical assessment.

Human Liver Location

This questions is not dumb. It depends on how the patient
is looked at. If you stand in front of the patient facing him,
you would say the liver was on the left. However, the medical professionals use it from the patients perspective.
Therefore, the liver is located under the ribs, in the right
upper quadrant, anteriorly( which means to the front).

Even though, the liver goes over toward the middle and
even to the left some...it is mostly on the right side and
therefore that is where they say it is located.

Here is a link so you can see the location,

Here is another link. The picture is about half way down this
page.

Hope this is of some help.

The liver is the second largest organ in the body (the skin being the first) and sits under the diaphram just below the ribs. The largest part lies on your left but the tip extends to the middle of the right side. t extends from front to back, and an adult liver weighs about 5-7 kgs.

The adult human liver normally weighs between 1.4 - 1.6 kilograms (3.1 - 3.5 pounds), and it is a soft, pinkish-brown "boomerang shaped" organ. It is the second largest organ (the largest organ being the skin) and the largest gland within the human body. It is located on the "right side" of the upper abdomen below the diaphragm. The liver lies on the left of the stomach and makes a kind of bed for the gallbladder (which stores bile).

The right front portion of your body mostly under the lower right rib cage area, under the diaphragm and lapping over some parts of the heart.

Normally on the right (there are rare cases where all the organs are on the opposite side from what is normal).
