Her company took forever to even say she could file a Workers Comp ( she got robbed at her place of work) This happened in Jan07 and she seems to be going down hill sice then. WC finally allowed her to see a psyc doctor in July 6mo later. They said she had PTSD and anxiety gave her a bunch of meds and sleeping pills, and told her to start a journal. None of this seems to be working. She seems so unhappy all the time She's a wonderful mother to our three kids but I just don't see that sparkle in her eyes anymore. She is nervous anf jumpy all the time, she very rarely leaves the house. She won't even walk the dog around the block. I've tried talking to her and getting her out of the house, but she gets so paranoid and nervous.
WHAT SHOULD I DO. I love this woman, she's the mother of my kids, and I want her back and healthy and happy!!!

Any suggestion or anyone going through something like this. I need advise!
Thanks

PTSD is a very serious condition and is very hard to treat. I don't know what they have her on but if it's not working for her they should be notified and they should take another approach. If they seem too lazy or unwilling to do so then I would take her somewhere else. PTSD never really completely goes away. Considering the factor that resulted in that diagnosis though compared to some of our soldiers who come back from Iraq she is palpably more treatable than most and may be able to make a full recovery. It is just going to take time, good professional help and plenty of support from you. Don't look at her at someone lost in a spiral. Be as supportive to her as you can. If they're not psychiatrically treating from time to time I'd definitely look into someone who is willing to do so.

Your wife sounds like she is suffering from something else, not PTSD...more like the baby blues..as they used to call them..Tell her to have faith in God, and in Jesus, and be thankful, that she is still alive,...the chances of it happening again, are very rare..Tell her that not to worry, and to just have faith and forgive the people who did this..I had a much worse situation happen to me, and I forgave and forgot..and the Lord took it from me..believe me, MUCH worse..and lived to tell...but forgiving, allowed me to go on with my life..

they have diagnosed your wife in the right way, she is suffering from PTSD, which is a nervous condition caused by a life threatening situation, a mixture of anxiety and depression symptoms might reveal.
drugs and group psychotherapy will be helpful in her condition, support groups for PTSD in your area might be the answer.
