I doubt that anyone who will give you an answer on this forum would be up to the challenge of being President of the United States.
That said, if I were to advise the President, I would probably suggest we lock Iraq down with marshall law to stop the violence and make the Iraqi people earn their freedom.
I don't have a clue if it would work.
g-day!

However a withdrawal is effected its vital to secure the areas as given the opportunity Islams fanatics would inevitably rain down every missile or whatever to destroy any such gathering of military strength. After all, its no more then effective sound historical military tactics i.e. take them out before they land, gain a foothold!
A page from the Brits methods would serve to remind the US High Command!
Deception: The Brits past masters in / at it!
Hopefully the US High Command will use their loafs and invest in it! Explain any such detail her and we all know the hysterical media will lock into it, boast and tell the world.
The enemy prepared and leaving us countless dead and wounded.
In any such withdrawal - the US and World media - the greatest enemy!

I would execute a sweep and clear of all the terrorists in Iraq. That way we would be able to leave sooner.
