I hit a 6-iron into a par 3 over water and it was drawing right at the stick. I was watching it and thinking, "Oh, man, be the right club." It drilled the bottom of the stick dead center and shot directly backwards off the green and into the water.

My worst to great shot ever is a classic story. In a green side trap on a par 5 lying two, and I'm just thinking about flopping it out and making birdie if I can. I had a lot of green to carry, so I took a big whack at it and skulled it out of the trap. It flew at the pin, got caught in the flag itself, fell to the green and rolled in for an eagle.

Its not HOW but HOW MANY!

This is easy. I was playing at Mather Golf Course near Sacramento and I hit a shot between fairways and had to use a 2 iron to hit under the trees to get back into the fairway. I had about 50 yards to get into the fairway and about 10 feet between some trees and a chain link fence that protected some electrical stuff. These were maybe 30 yards away. Halfway between thes items was a telephone pole, so I had a choice of going for one of two 5 foot openings. I went with option 3 aim for the pole, then I could be off by 5 feet either way and still make it through. I had to hit it pretty hard which explains why it was going so fast when it came back at me after it hit the pole dead center! What were the chances I would hit it exactly where I aimed. If you ever saw me play, you would say mighty slim.

The worst best shot I hit was one I skulled out of the sand. It flew over the green at a high rate of speed until it hit a large oak tree, bounding back on to the green and stopping two feet from the hole.

My mom once topped a drive on a 100 yard par 3 which bounded and rolled down a 15 foot wide fairway and then through a sand trap before rolling into the hole. It was one of her five holes in one during her life.

Just yesterday, I had the best drive ive ever had, about 350 yards right down the middle, and hit it too far into the water. I should have hit a 3 wood! The worst was when i hit a house and it bounced off the roof and went on the green. It was great!

Best shot to turn out bad was a gap wedge from 110 that landed three feet from the hole, hopped into the pin and bounced off the green and behind a tree. Went from kick-in birdie to bogey.
Worst shot that turned out good was a skulled five iron for a second shot into a short par 5. Rolled up to about 10 feet and made an eagle. Guess it all evens out.

a good shot gone bad: i was maybe 115 yards out, and hit my 52* wedge. I made perfect contact and it was tracking right at the hole. (My ball mark ended up about 6 inches deep.) I landed by the pin, then spun back, off the green, down the sloping fairway, and into a bunker 40 yards off the green.

A bad shot gone good: Playing at the Omni Tucson National, I pulled my tee shot from a 230 yard par three, it landed in the bunker, hit the rake in the bunker, ricocheted wildy toward the green, struck the pin really hard, and plopped two feet from the hole. (Of course I later said that "I just hit the pin")

this is easy for me. it was the first hole which was the number 1 handicap at a nice country club with some fast greens and lots of water. it was a 460 yd hole and i hit my driver to 180 yds. i pull out a 6 iron and hit it well, right at the stick. as it is up in the air, i say to my partner, 'this is gonna be good.' right in front of the green, there was a small pond so you needed to hit a good drive to be able to hit your second shot over this pond. the ball ends up hitting the pin dead on and ricocheting back. two bounces and it starts rolling fairly fast. there was only about a yard of rough between the fringe and the water and the ball rolls right on through into the water. i was pissed

Infact it just happened yesterday.

I was 40 meters out but in front of another tee (this was a par 3 course, relaxed rules), there were a few tall trees around 10 meters from the green so I knew that I had to keep the pitch with my pitching wedge low.

So I take my shot and as it turns out, the ball goes high. I hear the ball hitting a few leaves and I herd it hit a branch. I thorght, here we go, a 10 meter chip onto the green.

The ball is one meter from the hole!

I had a 350 yard drive roll into a lake..I was pissed.

On a par three, 175 yards, my tee shot went right. It then hit a tree and bounced on to the green about 6 feet from the hole. I drained the birdie....

I holed my second shot from under a tree with low branches. I used a 4 iron to keep the ball as low as possible but pull it out of the tall grass. Everyone just said pitch it out and then go for the green. I punched it out expertly, then the shaft hit a low branch, it was cold and the shaft splintered. Great shot, but a stupid shot. I won the match but it cost me years looking for a duplicate shaft. That one good shot, cost me many many bad shots with the replacement club. Let the adrenaline pass before you decide what to do. Being a superman may not be the best choice!

Par 3, 156 yards hit the pin, went into the water.
Par 5 out of the greenside bunker, bladed, hit roof of condo, bounced off balcony, hit cart path landed 2' from cup, putted for a birdie.
