The following is a quote from "Quest Study Bible," published by Zondervan, the same publisher who is in charge of publishing the NIV Bibles.

"Who wrote this book [Genesis] and when? Moses probably wrote this book around 1440 B.C. But since he was not an eye-witness to the creation, he relied on revelation from God and, perhaps, earlier oral or written records."

Do you still think people who question the validity of Creationism are overacting?

In all likelihood Moses probably wrote Genesis. I think we must realize Moses was not all that spiritually enlightened as Jesus taught a totally different philosophy on how to live ones life. Having said that we need to look into a deeper spiritual interpretation of Genesis.

The author of Genesis was God, working through Moses. This does Not mean that God used Moses as a ‘typewriter’. Rather, God prepared Moses for his task from the day he was born. When the time came, Moses had all the necessary data, and was iNFALLiBLY GUiDED BY THE HOLY SPiRiT as to what he included and what he left out. This is consistent with known history, and with the claims and principles of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:15–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

Nearly all biblical scholars reject that Moses wrote the Pentateuch. Most accept that several authors, at different times across different cultures wrote Genesis as well as the other books of the Pent. There are 2 creation stories in Genesis (chapter 1 and chapter 2 are two very different accounts of the same event). The stories are myth, and not intended to be taken literally (as is evidenced by many Rabbinic texts).

Secondly, creationism fails in that it cannot be tested or proven. You can believe it all you want, and there is no evidence to the contrary, but at the same time, there is no evidence to support your argument either.

Jehovah God, the writer of the heavens and earth is the author of the bible (2 Tim. 3:sixteen). God stimulated Moses to write down the e book of Genesis. Moses recieved the archives as we talk from divine revelation and a few under the direction of Holy Spirit. Jesus many circumstances interior the bible refers to Moses or Moses writings (Math 19:4,5 - Gen a million:17; 2:24) The crowning testimony being that of Jesus Christ that is got here upon at Luke 24:27, 40 4. in fact the Christian Greek Scriptures make commonly used point out of Moses through fact the author of the regulation. This piece of archives is for yet another man or woman whom spoke back your question: Jesus does not have spoken of Moses as a actual individual if Moses replaced right into a delusion. .

I don't think the author of Genesis has anything to do with the strength of Creationist arguments, simply because the book of Genesis does not advocate Creationism. The early Church understood Genesis as an allegory even when a literal reading was perfectly acceptable.

no. not at all.
The creation story is not like that. One does not try to validate it. What happens is that when knowledge arises, the words in which they are encouched is different. For instance, the idea of separating day from night....there actually was a time in our solar system when there were two suns. (most star systems in our galaxy are binary star systems). So actually, some information can be surprising. It's the lack of detail that is aggravating, or the mis-translation. Our ancestors were not as dumb as we think. They were intelligent, rational and fun-loving, with a penchant to take life seriously because life WAS serious back then.

I guess I rambled. Hope it helps a bit.

Ask a scientist,"where did all matter come from, before The Big Bang and what causes ourselves to be self-aware?".Being a Christian,I cannot, also, answer this question "what was the origin of God",? I can only proof God by knowing the new spirit in me.Trying to wrap our brains around the concept of forming something from nothing,or by God creating Himself, cannot be proven by mindpower, alone, but by something, else. All Scripture is given by INSPIRATION of God according to 2 Timothy 3:16. Also the Scripture is not of any private interpretation. No prophecy of any kind came of private origin, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit according to 2 Peter 1:19-21.

The credibility of Creationism isn't weakened by
anything that has to do with The Bible. Creation-
ism's credibility is weakened by what The Bible
lacks: proof.

The book of Genesis was written as a fairy tale story for kids. There were no Mickey Mouse, Pokemon, Tarzan and Peter Pan at the time.
