I used to be so afraid to get the shot, but it is not as bad as you think. You need to tell the dentist that you are really afraid about it. If they know, they might be able to distract you or something. Ask if they can put a topical numbing gel on before you get the shot. My dentist always distracts me before I get the shot.

Don't worry, dental work is practically painless. I have always thought that the shot was painless too. The whole thing will likely hurt much less than the tooth that is bothering you.

They can put a topical gel which will numb the area before the shot they are not to painful you may feel a little pinch nothing to be scared of.

don't worry. i'm 16 and have gotten 4 teeth pulled out. they numb you so the pain is less, but you still feel it a little. afterwards my teeth were bleeding for like 8 hours, and after a few days, there were no signs of even having teeth pulled out (except for the missing teeth of course). this was all preparation for getting braces, by the way.

It just a sting and pressure which lasts about 5 seconds. Nothing to worry about.

Ask the dentist to put you in a straigh jacket and give you "sleepy time" cocktail mix before he works on you!

MICHELE,
YOU'LL BE JUST FINE. DON'T WORRY THE DENTIST IS NOT THERE TO CAUSE YOU PAIN.
